1951 Cork Senior Hurling Championship
The 1951 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 62nd staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place at the Cork Convention on 21 January 1951. The championship began on 8 April 1951 and ended on 7 October 1951. Glen Rovers were the defending champions. On 7 October 1951, Sarsfields won the championship following a 5–8 to 3–7 defeat of Glen Rovers in the final. This was their first championship title ever. Micka Brennan was the championship's top scorer with 9-01. Castlemartyr GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Castlemartyr, Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club fields teams in both Gaelic football and hurling. It is a member of the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. History Castlemartyr hurling club was founded in 1924, though the area had been noted for its hurlers and footballers before that year, and a football team existed in Castlemartyr at the end of the 19th century. Innishannon or Inishannon () is a large village on the main Cork (city), Cork–Bandon, County Cork, Bandon road (N71 road (Ireland), N71) in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Valley Rovers GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Innishannon in County Cork, Ireland. UCC is a football and hurling club associated with University College Cork.
