The Serie B 1950–51 was the nineteenth tournament of this competition played in Italy since its creation. Teams Seregno, Treviso, Ancona and Messina had been promoted from Serie C, while Bari and Venezia had been relegated from Serie A. The Serie B (), currently named Serie Balkrishna Industries, BKT for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest division in the Italian football league system after the Serie A. It has been operating for over ninety years since the 1929–30 Serie B, 1929–30 season. It had been organized by Lega Nazionale Professionisti, Lega Calcio until 2010, when the Lega Serie B was created for the 2010–11 season. Common nicknames for the league are ''campionato cadetto'' and ''cadetteria'', since ''cadetto'' is the Italian name for junior or cadet. Treviso Foot Ball Club 1993, commonly known as Treviso, is an Italian football club based in Treviso, Veneto, which competes in Eccellenza, the fifth tier of Italian football. ''Football Club Treviso'' was originally founded in 1909, while the current society dates back to 2021. The team has been playing its home matches in the 10,000-seat Stadio Omobono Tenni since 1933. The 1951–52 Serie A season was won by Juventus. Teams SPAL and Legnano had been promoted from Serie B. Six out of the twenty clubs came from Lombardy, a record for a single region of Italy.
