Malcolm Anthony Smith (born August 9, 1956) is an American politician from New York who was convicted of public corruption. A Democrat, Smith was a member of the State Senate, representing the 10th district in the New York State Senate from 2000 to 2002 and Senate District 14 from 2003 to 2014. Smith served as New York State Senate Majority Leader in 2009 and served as Temporary President of the New York State Senate from 2009 to 2010; he is the first African-American to hold those leadership positions. Carl Kruger
Carl Kruger (born December 3, 1949) is an American convicted felon and politician from New York. A Democrat from Brooklyn, he represented District 27 in the New York State Senate. Kruger was first elected to the State Senate in 1994 and later became Chair of the Senate Social Service Committee and the Senate Finance Committee. In December 2011, he resigned from the State Senate and pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges. In 2012, Kruger was sentenced to seven years in prison. Carl Andrews
Carl Andrews was a member of the New York State Senate from Brooklyn from 2002 to 2006. A Democrat, he represented Crown Heights, Flatbush, Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, and Prospect Heights. A graduate of Medgar Evers College-with an MA in African-American Studies from SUNY-Albany-Andrews' first stint in public office came in 1981, when he sat on a community school board in the 17th District, Crown Heights. Martin Markowitz (born February 14, 1945) is an American politician who served as the borough president of Brooklyn, New York City. Velmanette Montgomery (born December 22, 1942) is an American Democratic Party politician who represented the 25th district of the New York State Senate from 1984 until 2020. Toby Ann Stavisky (née Goldhaar, born June 26, 1939) is an American politician serving as a member of the New York State Senate, having held a seat since 1999. She represents the 11th district, which comprises parts of Queens. Life and career Stavisky was born and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. She attended New York City public schools before graduating from Bronx High School of Science, and Syracuse University, which she attended on an academic scholarship. George Onorato
George Onorato (November 5, 1928 – February 21, 2015) was an American politician from New York. Life Onorato was born on November 5, 1928, in Astoria, Queens, New York City. He graduated from Long Island City High School. He served in the 118th Medical Battalion of the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He married Athena Georgakakos, and they had three children. He was Secretary and Treasurer of Local 41 of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers for 15 years, and entered politics as a Democrat.
