1947–48 Taça De Portugal
The 1947–48 Taça de Portugal was the ninth season of the Taça de Portugal (English: ''Portuguese Cup''), the premier Portuguese Association football, football single-elimination tournament, knockout competition, organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). The competition wansn't played in the previous season due to overscheduling with the creation of the Terceira Divisão. Sporting Clube de Portugal was defeated C.F. Os Belenenses in the final on 4 July 1948. Sporting Clube de Portugal, founded Sporting Club de Portugal (), otherwise referred to as Sporting CP, often known abroad as Sporting Lisbon , is a Portuguese professional sports club based in Lisbon. It is best known for the professional football team playing in the Primeira Liga, the top flight of Portuguese football. Founded on 1 July 1906, Sporting is one of the " Big Three" clubs in Portugal that have never been relegated from Primeira Liga, along with rivals Benfica and Porto. Portimonense Sporting Clube is a Portuguese sports club based in Portimão. Founded on 14 August 1914, it is most notable for its professional football team, which currently plays in the Primeira Liga, the top flight of Portuguese football. Lusitano Futebol Clube, often known as Lusitano VRSA, is a Portuguese football club from Vila Real de Santo António, in the Algarve region. The club was founded on 15 April 1916 and is the No. 1 delegation of S.L. Benfica, and has Miguel Ângelo Machado Vairinhos as its current president. In the 2016–2017 season they competed in Campeonato de Portugal (third tier of Portuguese football pyramid) and their head coach is Ricardo Sousa.
