Hilton Milwaukee City Center
The Hilton Milwaukee City Center is a historic Art Deco-style hotel opened in 1928 and located in the Westown neighborhood of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is owned by the Marcus Corporation, which also owns the Pfister Hotel and the Saint Kate Hotel in Downtown Milwaukee. History The hotel opened in 1928 as the Schroeder Hotel. It was owned by hotel magnate Walter Schroeder and designed by Holabird & Roche. Its exterior is in the simplified neo-classical style, while its interiors are Art Deco, with extensive use of hardwoods and intricate decorative metal detailing. It has a height of 275 feet (84 meters), with an antenna extending its total height to 187 meters. The building has 25 floors and 729 rooms. James Banks McFadden (February 7, 1917 – June 4, 2005) was an American football and basketball player and coach. McFadden is best known for his association with Clemson University, where he spent 43 years as a player, coach, and administrator. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1959. The Brooklyn Dodgers were an American football team that played in the National Football League from 1930 to 1943, and in 1944 as the Brooklyn Tigers. The team played its home games at Ebbets Field of the baseball National League's team, the Brooklyn Dodgers. Oliver Kay Eakin, Jr. (August 3, 1917 – February 15, 1993) was an American football player in the National Football League and the All-America Football Conference. He was the third overall pick in the 1940 NFL Draft. Eakin played college football at the University of Arkansas, and was selected in the first round of the 1940 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
