For the second consecutive season the Toronto Argonauts and Winnipeg Blue Bombers met for the Grey Cup. The Argonauts won the game. The Toronto Argonauts (officially the Toronto Argonaut Football Club and colloquially known as the Argos) are a professional Canadian football team competing in the East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL), based in Toronto, Ontario. Johnny Ferraro
John James Ferraro (1910 – September 28, 1981) was American gridiron football player. He was an all-star football player in the Ontario Rugby Football Union and the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1966 and the Cornell Athletic Hall of Fame in 1978. A graduate of Cornell University in 1934 with a degree in hotel administration, he captained both the football and basketball teams and was a member of the Quill and Dagger society. He came to Canada in 1934 and played two seasons with the Hamilton Tigers of the IRFU and played in the Grey Cup. Ferraro then moved to Montreal where he played for 4 teams. Starting in 1936, he suited up for the Montreal Indians, Montreal Nationals, Montreal Westmounts and Montreal Bulldogs. He was also playing coach of the Tigers and Indians. Ted Morris
Allan Byron (Teddy) Morris (March 1910 – September 5, 1965) was a Canadian Football Hall of Fame player and coach for the Toronto Argonauts. Morris began playing Canadian football with Toronto playground teams and moved on to the Winnipeg Native Sons junior football team. Upon his return to Toronto he joined the Argonauts junior squad and quickly earned a spot on the senior team. He was a star player for the Argonauts for nine years and was named All-Eastern running back three times and flying wing twice and named the 1937 Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy winner as the player who best exemplified skill, sportsmanship, and courage in the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union. Annis Stukus
Annis Paul Stukus (October 25, 1914 – May 20, 2006) was a Canadian football player, coach and general manager, and ice hockey general manager. Stukus was born in Toronto. He played for the Toronto Argonauts from 1935 to 1941, leading the team to Grey Cup victories in 1937 and 1938 (playing 45 regular season and 14 playoff games.) He then played for the Oakwood Indians (1942), Balmy Beach (1943), HMCS York Bulldogs (1944) and the Toronto Indians (1945, 1946), all Toronto-based teams. Stukus was a consultant to the Toronto Huskies basketball team in its one season of operations in 1946–47. In 1949, he helped organize the Edmonton Eskimos' reentry into the Western Interprovincial Football Union and served as their head coach for three seasons. The Art Ross Trophy is awarded to the National Hockey League (NHL) player who leads the league in points at the end of the regular season.
