1937–38 Panhellenic Championship
The 1937–38 Panhellenic Championship was the ninth season of the highest football league of Greece. The champions of the 3 founding Associations of the HFF participated in the championship, which were the Αthenian, the Piraeus' and the Macedonian association. Olympiacos emerged again undefeated champion and won the championship for their sixth time (3 consecutive), winning in the crucial last game the then champion of Athens, Apollon Athens with 2-3 after a comeback from 2-1 at the half time, at Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium. The point system was: ''Win: 2 points'' - ''Draw: 1 point'' - ''Loss: 0 points''. Panhellenic Championship
The Super League Greece 1 ( el, Ελληνική Σούπερ Λιγκ 1), or Super League 1, is the highest professional association football league in Greece. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced ''Alpha Ethniki'' at the top of the Greek football league system. It consists of 14 teams and runs from August to May, with teams playing 26 games. As of May 2022, Super League Greece is ranked 15th in the UEFA coefficient, UEFA ranking of leagues, based on performances in European competitions over the last five years. Since the foundation of the first official Panhellenic Championship in 1927, only six clubs have won the title. The current champions are Olympiacos F.C., Olympiacos, based in Piraeus. Giannis Vazos ( el, Γιάννης Βάζος; 1914 – 6 November 1991) was a Greek international football player who played as a forward. Early life He was born into a relatively wealthy family due to his father, Zacharías, being a trader and ran a Butcher shop. However, during pregnancy, his mother, Stélla, contracted an illness that endangered the life of both her and young Giannis. During his birth, Giannis developed a Neurological disorder in his legs. This led to the slight, but obvious peculiarity whenever Giannis would run, with the fans believing that his “stronger” right foot was shorter than his left. Giannis was the middle of 7 siblings.
