1936 Estonian Football Championship
The 1936 Estonian Football Championship was the 16th official football league season in Estonia. Eight teams took part in the league six from Tallinn, one from Pärnu and Narva. Each team played every opponent twice, once at home and once on the road, for total of 14 games. JS Estonia Tallinn successfully defended the title and clinched their third consecutive league title. JS Estonia Tallinn was an Estonian football club based in Tallinn Tallinn () is the most populous and capital city of Estonia. Situated on a bay in north Estonia, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea, Tallinn has a population of 437,811 (as of 2022) and administratively lies in the Harju '' .... It was founded in November 1930. The board included many ex-footballers and then active players that played for the team, such as Eduard Ellmann-Eelma and Arnold Pihlak. History The club played its first two seasons in Estonian First Division. After the successful promotion in 1932, they played in Estonian Top Division and only lost the title in the last game of the season to Sport Tallinn. But then they won five consecutive league titles from 1934 to 1938/39. They were unbeaten for the first two seasons in that run and even extended it until the middle of the third. JK Tallinna Kalev, also known as Tallinna Kalev or simply Kalev, is a football club based in Tallinn, Estonia, that competes in the Meistriliiga, the top flight of Estonian football. The club's home ground is the Kalevi Keskstaadion. Formed as Meteor in 1909, the club changed its name to Kalev in 1911 after joining the Estonian Sports Association Kalev.
