Nürburgring
The is a 150,000 person capacity motorsports complex located in the town of Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It features a Formula One, Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a long "North loop" track, built in the 1920s, around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. The north loop is long and contains more than of elevation change from its lowest to highest points. Jackie Stewart nicknamed the track "The Green Hell". August "Bubi" Momberger (26 June 1905 – 22 December 1969) was a German racing driver and engineer, who competed in Grand Prix motor racing events for various manufacturers between 1926 and 1934. During the 1934 Grand Prix season – the first season of the infamous Silver Arrows period of German dominance of Grand Prix racing, that would last until the outbreak of WWII – he drove for the '' Auto Union Rennabteilung'', and was the first driver of a Silver Arrows car to take a podium finish in a major race. During the season he took a further second-placed finish, and posted two fastest laps, but worsening arthritis and a deteriorating relationship with the Auto Union team manager forced him into retirement before the end of the year. Bugatti Type 51
The Bugatti Type 51 series succeeded the famous Type 35 as Bugatti's premier racing car for the 1930s. Unlike the dominant Type 35s of the prior decade, the Type 51 (and later Type 53, Type 54, and Type 59) were unable to compete with the government-supported German and Italian offerings. Bugatti
Automobiles Ettore Bugatti was a German then French manufacturer of high-performance automobiles. The company was founded in 1909 in the then-German city of Molsheim, Alsace, by the Italian-born industrial designer Ettore Bugatti. The cars were known for their design beauty and for their many race victories. László Hartmann
László Hartmann ( Hungarian: ''Hartmann László''; 17 August 1901 – 16 May 1938) was a Hungarian Grand Prix motor racing driver. Despite showing little aptitude behind the wheel while training for his road licence, Hartmann went on to become one of Hungary's leading competition drivers of the pre-World War II period. He began his racing career in the late 1920s, driving his own privately entered Hupmobile in local circuit and hillclimb events. He soon graduated to a true racing car, buying a Bugatti Type 35B from compatriot Count Tivadar Zichy in 1929. With this and another of his own Bugattis – a Type 37A sports car bought in 1930 – he began to enter more prestigious and challenging European events in addition to those in his home country. Maserati 8CM
The Maserati 8CM was a Grand Prix race car produced by Italian manufacturer Maserati in Bologna between 1933 and 1935. The car mounted an 8-cylinder 2991 cc straight engine and 400 mm drum brakes. Maximum power was around 220-240 hp at 5,500 rpm. The chassis had been derived from that of the 4CM 1100, which proved to be too light and was subject to flex; the situation improved when driver Tazio Nuvolari asked for a strengthening of the front part, and the weight reduced from 785 to 750 kg.
