Leopold Kielholz
Leopold "Poldi" Kielholz (9 June 1911 – 4 June 1980) was a Swiss football striker. He participated in the 1934 FIFA World Cup, scoring 3 goals, and also in the 1938 FIFA World Cup. Historically, he was the first Swiss international to score a goal for his country in a World Cup tournament. He was wearing glasses during games. Football career Club Leopold Kielholz started his footballing career by BSC Old Boys Basel. A year later he transferred to Black Stars Basel and another two years later to FC Basel. A well-documented curiosity was that at the end of Basel's 1929–30 season, the team set off on a Scandinavian football tour, including a visit to Germany. Six games were played in Norway, but the first was played in Leipzig. The team travelled with 15 players, their trainer Kertész and two functionaries. Severino Minelli
Severino Minelli (6 September 1909 – 23 September 1994) was a Swiss footballer who played as a defender. He participated in the 1934 FIFA World Cup and the 1938 FIFA World Cup. He played a total of 80 matches for Switzerland. He played as a sweeper in the revolutionary formation developed by the Austrian coach Karl Rappan in Grasshopper-Club Zurich as well as in Switzerland national football team, the "''verrou" ("the bolt")''. Joseph Bossi or Giuseppe Bossi (born 29 August 1911; date of death unknown) was a Swiss footballer who played for Switzerland in the 1934 FIFA World Cup. Luis Monti
Luis Felipe Monti (15 May 1901 – 9 September 1983) was an Italian Argentine footballer who played as a midfielder and an Olympian. Monti has the distinction of having played in two FIFA World Cup final matches with two different national teams. He played the first of these finals with his native Argentina in 1930, which was lost to Uruguay; and the second with Italy as one of their '' Oriundi'' in 1934, thanks to his Romagnol descent. This second time Monti was on the winning side in a 2–1 victory over Czechoslovakia. Monti was a rugged, physical, and ruthless player, but had the technical skills to go with his stamina and strong tackling. Raimundo Orsi
Raimundo Bibiani "Mumo" Orsi (2 December 1901 – 6 April 1986) was an Italian Argentine footballer who played as a winger or as a forward. At the international level he represented both Argentina and Italy, winning the 1927 Copa América and the silver medal at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with Argentina, as well as two editions of the Central European International Cup and the 1934 FIFA World Cup, with Italy. Mario Pizziolo
Mario Pizziolo (; 8 December 1909 – 30 April 1990) was an Italian football player and manager, who played as a central or defensive midfielder. Club career Pizziolo was born in Castellammare Adriatico, province of Pescara. He started his club career in the youth teams of Livorno and Ternana, and later played for the Pistoiese senior side (1925–1929), before joining the senior team of Fiorentina, where he played between 1929 and 1936, playing 203 matches and scoring three goals in all competitions. He retired at 27. International career Pizziolo played twelve matches for Italy between 1933 and 1934, scoring one goal. He was part of the gold-winning 1933–35 Central European International Cup squad, and of the side that won the 1934 FIFA World Cup on home soil, in which he played one game, the first leg of the quarter-finals against Spain, in which he got seriously injured, breaking one of his legs, in a 1–1 draw after extra-time. Sir Stanley Ford Rous (25 April 1895 – 18 July 1986) was an English football referee and the 6th President of FIFA, serving from 1961 to 1974. He also served as secretary of the Football Association from 1934 to 1962 and was an international referee. Felice Borel
Felice Placido Borel (; 5 April 1914 – 21 January 1993) was an Italian football player who played as a striker. He was a member of the Italy national football team that won the 1934 FIFA World Cup. Club career Borel was born in Nice, France. During his career, he played for Juventus and cross-city rivals Torino in Serie A and, in Serie B, for Alessandria, and finally for S.S.C. Napoli, where he finished his career. He scored 157 goals for Juventus, winning three Serie A titles (1933, 1934, and 1935) and a Coppa Italia (1938) during his time with the club, as well as the Serie A top-scorer award on two occasions (1933 and 1934); he is currently Juventus's sixth highest goal scorer.
