Kategoria Superiore
The Kategoria Superiore, officially known as Abissnet Superiore for sponsorship reasons, is a professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Albanian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. It is contested by 10 clubs, and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Kategoria e Parë. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 36 matches each (playing each team in the league four times, twice at home and twice away). The competition was founded in 1930 as the Albanian National Championship during the reign of King Zog, shortly after the creation of the Albanian Football Association. KF Tirana
Klubi i Futbollit Tirana (KF Tirana) is an Albanian football club based in the country's capital city, Tirana. The men's football club is part of the multi-disciplinary sports club SK Tirana, and is the most successful in Albania, having won 54 recognized major domestic trophies. They play their home games at the Selman Stërmasi Stadium in Tirana and they play in the Kategoria Superiore. The club was founded on 15 August 1920 as Sport Klub Tirana (in English: Sport Club Tirana), but then, they name changed to Shoqata e Futbollit Agimi (in English: Agimi Football Association) and they had since participated in List of unrelegated association football clubs, all the top tier national championships ever held in Albania. Qemal Omari
Qemal Omari (born 1928) was a Turkish football player, manager and referee of Albanian heritage. He was a founding member of İstanbulspor A.Ş. in 1926 and he played for the club before retiring and becoming a referee and the general secretary of the Istanbul Football League. in 1932 he notably refereed the game between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe before moving to Albania to become the manager of Skënderbeu Korçë. Skënderbeu In the early 1930s, King Zog of Albania had wanted foreign players and coaches to come to the country in order to raise the profile of football and to increase the standards, and Omari was invited by representatives of King Zog to Albania along with Servet Teufik Agaj, both of whom were Ethnic Albanians living in Turkey. Both Omari and Agaj were to head to Korçë to join the Skënderbeu. Aristotel Samsuri
Aristotel Samsuri was a former Albanian football player who played for Skënderbeu Korçë between 1930 and 1940, where he won the 1933 National Championship and the golden boot in 1931 after scoring 9 league goals. Following his retirement from football, he joined the Albanian Partisans and was captured by the Nazi German troops who put him in a concentration camp in Thessaloniki, Greece where he was executed some time between 1942 and 1944. The ruling post-war Communist regime in Albania covered up his death; the official stance was that he had escaped from the concentration camp and had left Greece on a boat that sank and killed everyone on board except for Samsuri who being the only one to survive the incident, supposedly travelled to the French Upper Volta, modern–day Burkina Faso where he lived under the name Justin Osturno.
