1931 Argentine Primera División
The 1931 Primera División season was the 40th season of top-flight football in Argentina and the first to be professional in the country, after eighteen clubs broke away from the amateur league structure to form the professional league, "Liga Argentina de Football" (LAF). The inaugural champions was Boca Juniors led by coach Mario Fortunato. The Primera División (; en, "First Division"), known officialy as Liga Profesional de Fútbol, or Torneo Binance for sponsorship reasons, is a professional football league in Argentina, organised by the Argentine Football Association (AFA). It operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Primera Nacional (Second Division), with the teams placed lowest at the end of the season being relegated. Club El Porvenir
Club El Porvenir is an Argentine football club, located in the Gerli district of Lanús Partido in Greater Buenos Aires. The team currently plays in Primera C, the regionalised fourth division of the Argentine football league system. History The club was established on 12 September 1915 in Villa Porvenir, Avellaneda Partido, primarily as a Greco-Roman wrestling club. The football team debuted in official tournaments in 1918, playing its home games at the Club "Sígame Si Puede" ("Follow me if You can", in Spanish, current Sportivo Dock Sud). In 1919 El Porvenir acquired the field where its first stadium would be built, winning the title that allowed the squad to promote to the "intermedia" (second) division, current Primera B, one year later, therefore promoting to the Primera División, the top division of Argentine league system. Club Atlético Banfield is an Argentine sports club based in the Banfield district of Greater Buenos Aires. It was founded on 21 January 1896, by the British–origin inhabitants of that city (mostly English, and some Scots and Irish). Club Atlético Barracas Central is an Argentine football club from the district of Barracas, Buenos Aires. Established in 1904, Barracas Central will return to the Primera División, the top level of the Argentine football league system, in the 2022 season after the team won the Torneo Reducido. History Foundation and early years Felipe Cámpora, a truck driver, founded Club Atlético Barracas Central on 5 April 1904 under the name "Barracas Central del Sud". Cámpora carried out the project and became the first president of the entity.
