Voldemārs Žins
Voldemārs Žins (born 1905, date of death unknown) was a Latvian footballer who played for Olimpija Liepāja and Latvia national football team. Club career Žins began playing football with LNJS Liepāja in the early 1920s but he became really popular in Liepāja after he moved to Olimpija Liepāja in 1925. Olimpija was rapidly becoming one of the best football clubs in Latvia then with footballers like Rūdolfs Kronlaks, Ludvigs Dudaņecs, Kārlis Tīls and other future national team players in their top form. In 1925, Žins scored two goals as Olimpija devastated Cēsu SB 7–0 in the final match for the title of best provincial football club in Latvia. Playing with Olimpija, Žins won the Latvian Higher League five times and became a three-time winner of the Riga Football Cup (the predecessor to the Latvian Cup). Nordic Football Championship
The Nordic Football Championship ( da, Nordisk Mesterskab, no, Nordisk Mesterskap, sv, Nordiska Mästerskapet, fi, Pohjoismaiden-mestaruusturnaus, commonly abbreviated NM or PM) was an international football competition contested by the men's national football teams of the Nordic countries. In the first tournament played 1924-1928, only Denmark, Norway and Sweden competed, but Finland joined for the second tournament, and at the last tournament played in 2000-2001, Iceland and the Faroe Islands also competed. History The tournament was created on Danish initiative to replace a contract, ended in 1919, between the Danish (DBU), Norwegian (NFF) and Swedish Football Association (SvFF) that stated that the national teams of the three associations should play two annual matches against each other. Balkan Cup
The Balkan Cup was an international association football competition contested on and off from 1929 to 1980 by countries from the Balkans region. The most successful team was Romania with four titles. Overview The first edition featured Romania, Greece, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria and was played over three years from 1929 to 1931. All teams played each other twice, home and away, and were awarded 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw, with final ranking table determining the winner. Romania won the first title with a game in hand after beating Yugoslavia 4–2. In the following tournaments the system saw significant changes, with teams playing each other only once, and instead of taking three years to complete it was shortened to just a single week. From 1932 to 1936 the competition was played every year with the same four teams until the outbreak of World War II. Eugen Einman
Eugen Einman (6 October 1905 – 12 September 1963) was an Estonian footballer who played as a right-back for the Estonian national team. He spent most of his career at Tallinna Sport and won a total of eight Estonian Championship titles. Einman is widely considered to be the greatest Estonian defensive player during the country's first period of independence. Club career Einman began playing football at the Tiigiveski Ground and joined Sport B team in 1920. He was promoted to the first team in 1923 and quickly established himself as a starter. Einman lifted his first Estonian Championship title in 1924, before winning the league again in 1925 and 1927. In 1928, Eugen Einman moved to TJK and won the league in the same season. He returned to Sport in the following year and again won the league title in 1929, before dominating Estonian football in 1931–1933, during which Sport also performed strongly against top European clubs. Fricis Dambrēvics (1906 – ?) was a Latvian football forward, a three-time champion of Latvia. Biography His entire top level career Dambrēvics played with the strongest Liepāja football club of 1920s and 1930s – Olimpija Liepāja for which he was one of the leading goalscorers. Dambrēvics won three Latvian league titles (1927–1929) and became a three-time winner of the Riga Football Cup playing for Olimpija. From 1926 to 1928 Dambrēvics played 8 international matches for Latvia national football team scoring two goals.
