The Norwegian monarch is the head of state of Norway, which is a constitutional and hereditary monarchy with a parliamentary system. The Norwegian monarchy can trace its line back to the reign of Harald Fairhair and the previous petty kingdoms which were united to form Norway; it has been in unions with both Sweden and Denmark for long periods. The present monarch is King Harald V, who has reigned since 17 January 1991, succeeding his father, Olav V. The heir apparent is his only son, Crown Prince Haakon. The crown prince undertakes various public ceremonial functions, as does the king's wife, Queen Sonja. The crown prince also acts as regent in the king's absence. Haagen Ringnes (10 August 1928 – 23 April 2008) was a Norwegian television journalist and non-fiction writer. Personal life Ringnes was born in Oslo to pianist Inge Rolf Ringnes and Anne Johanne Prior Bergh. He was a grandson of brewer Ellef Ringnes. In 1960 he married social worker Betty Frisak. Per Lønning
Per Lønning (24 February 1928 – 21 August 2016) was a Norwegian Lutheran bishop and politician. Lønning received a Doctor of Theology degree from the University of Oslo in 1955 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1958. Lønning began his career as a priest in Oslo in 1951. He also taught in a school in Oslo in 1954. From 1958 to 1965 he was elected as a member of the Norwegian Parliament for the Conservative Party of Norway. In 1964, Lønning was named the priest for the parish of Bergen. In 1969, he was named the bishop of the Diocese of Borg, a diocese that had just been created by splitting off from the large Diocese of Oslo. He was the first Bishop to lead this diocese and he served for nine years until he resigned in 1978 in protest against the passing of a law that allowed abortion on demand in Norway. Bjørn Unneberg
Bjørn Unneberg (23 February 1928 – 5 January 2020) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party (Norway), Centre Party. He was born in Stokke as a son of school inspector Agnar Unneberg (1903–1988) and housewife Bergljot Lærum (1901–1988). He graduated with the cand.jur. degree in 1949, and after worked as a research fellow on Slavic languages and culture at the Charles University in Prague, University of Prague from 1949 to 1950, he continued working mostly in the legal system. He worked in Eidsivating Court of Appeal from 1951 to 1953, then two years as a junior solicitor. Sonja Aase Ludvigsen (7 February 1928 – 12 July 1974) was a Norwegian politician, a member of the Labour Party. Career Ludvigsen was born in Vestby in 1928. After completing her education she did various white-collar jobs before obtaining employment with Vestby municipality where she was a tax adjuster from 1958 to 1965. Kjell Magne Fredheim
Kjell Magne Fredheim (born 3 February 1928 in Os, Hedmark, died 28 October 2006) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Hedmark in 1969, and was re-elected on four occasions. He had previously served as a deputy representative during the term 1965–1969.
