1926–27 Netherlands Football League Championship
The Netherlands Football League Championship 1926–1927 was contested by 50 teams participating in five divisions. The national champion would be determined by a play-off featuring the winners of the eastern, northern, southern and two western football divisions of the Netherlands. Heracles won this year's championship by beating NAC, AFC Ajax, Feijenoord and Velocitas 1897. Eredivisie
The Eredivisie (; ''"Honour Division"'' or ''"Premier Division"'') is the highest level of professional football in the Netherlands. The league was founded in 1956, two years after the start of professional football in the Netherlands. It is considered one of the best European leagues. As of the 2020–21 season, it is ranked the sixth-best league in Europe by UEFA. The Eredivisie consists of 18 clubs. Each club meets every other club twice during the season, once at home and once away. At the end of each season, the two clubs at the bottom are relegated to the second level of the Dutch league system, the (First Division), while the champion and runner-up of the are automatically promoted to the Eredivisie. Sportclub Enschede is a football club from Enschede, Netherlands. ''SC Enschede'' was established in 1910. The club won the national championship in 1926. In 1965 ''SC Enschede'' merged with their rivals Enschedese Boys to form FC Twente (both clubs continued as non-league clubs). Sportclub Veendam () was a Dutch professional association football club based in Veendam, province of Groningen. Founded on 4 September 1894 as Look-Out, it became P.J. Veendam in 1909, Veendam in 1910, SC Veendam in 1974, BV Veendam in 1997 and again SC Veendam in 2011. Be Quick 1887 is a football club from Groningen, Netherlands. The club was established in 1887, and is currently playing in the Vierde Divisie. History 19th century Be Quick 1887 was founded on 4 October 1887 by students of a local gymnasium. The club joined the football competition in 1895, and was placed in the ''Tweede Klasse Noord'', then the highest tier of football in the northern districts of the country. 20th century Be Quick joined the newly established ''Eerste Klasse'' in 1916, and would remain in the league until the introduction of professional football in the Netherlands in 1954.
