Divizia A
The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. The Liga I was established in 1909 and commenced play for the 1909–10 campaign, being currently on the 29th place in UEFA's league coefficient ranking list. It is administered by the Liga Profesionistă de Fotbal, also known by the acronym LPF. Before the 2006–07 season, the competition was known as ''Divizia A'', but the name had to be changed following the finding that someone else had registered that trademark. Fotbal Club Universitatea Cluj (), commonly known as Universitatea Cluj or simply as U Cluj, is a Romanian professional association football, football club based in the city of Cluj-Napoca, Cluj County, that competes in the Liga I, the first tier of the Romanian football league system, Romanian league system. Emerich Vogl
Emerich (Imre) Vogl (born 12 August 1905 in Temesvár, Austria-Hungary (now Romania) – died 29 October 1971 in Bucharest, Romania) was a Romanian football player and coach of Banat Swabian ethnicity who was a member of Romanian team which participated at the 1930 FIFA World Cup in Uruguay and 1934 FIFA World Cup in Italy. Career Club career Emerich Vogl played as a youth for Chinezul Timișoara between 1921 and 1922. In 1922, at 17, Vogl made his debut for the senior team. He played for the first team of Chinezul until 1929, winning five times Liga I with his team. In 1929, together with his teammate Ladislau Raffinsky moved to Juventus București . Rudolf Bürger
Rudolf Bürger (31 October 1908 – 20 January 1980) was a Romanian international footballer and coach of German ethnicity in the 1920s and 1930s who is one of a few men who participated in each of the three pre-War FIFA World Cups. Bürger played football for Ripensia TimiÅŸoara, the first professional team in Romania which came to prominence after 1932 under the direction of Rudolf Wetzer and was strong in the 1930s. Wetzer was both captain and coach of the Romanian national team at the 1930 World Cup. Bürger did not play in the 2nd World Cup but made appearances in both the first and third editions of the competition. Adalbert Steiner
Adalbert Steiner II (24 January 1907 – 10 December 1984) was a Romanian football defender. Club career His career in club football was spent at Unirea Timișoara between 1921 and 1922, he played at Chinezul Timișoara from 1922 until 1929 where he won three Divizia A titles and he finished his career in 1929–1930 at CA Timișoara. International career Adalbert Steiner played ten games for Romania. He and his brother Rudolf made their debut together in a 3–1 away victory against Turkey in 1926. Adalbert played two games at the 1929–31 Balkan Cup, a tournament that was won by Romania. He was part of Romania's squad at the 1930 World Cup playing in the first game, a 3–1 victory against Peru in which he got an injury from which he never recovered, ending his career. Vilmos Zombori (11 January 1906 in Temesvár, Austria-Hungary (now Romania) – 17 January 1993) was a Romanian footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He was also known as William Zombory. Biography At club level, he spent his career in Liga I with Chinezul Timișoara and Ripensia Timișoara. With the Romania national football team, he was picked by joint coaches Josef Uridil and Costel Rădulescu to play in the 1934 World Cup in Italy. Gymnastics Society Sibiu ( ro, Societatea de Gimnastică Sibiu, german: Hermannstädter Turnverein - HTV) was a German sport club based in Sibiu. At that time the city was part of Austria-Hungary and after part of Romania. History The Sibiu Gymnastics Club was founded on 30 October 1862 and aimed at youth education.
