1925 VFL Grand Final
The 1925 VFL Grand Final was an Australian rules football game contested between the Geelong Football Club and Collingwood Football Club, held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on 10 October 1925. It was the 27th annual grand final of the Victorian Football League, staged to determine the premiers for the 1925 VFL season. The match, attended by 64,288 spectators, was won by Geelong by a margin of 10 points, marking that club's first VFL premiership victory. Geelong, competing in their first VFL grand final, had been the best side all season, having lost only two games on their way to the minor premiership and at one stage put together a sequence of 12 successive wins. Collingwood on the other hand had only made the finals on percentage, a spot only cemented when they defeated South Melbourne by 65 points in the final round. Bill Hudd
William Wyatt Hudd (28 November 1901 – 5 August 1960) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong, Essendon and Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Jack Chambers (footballer)
John Moffatt Chambers (6 December 1901 – 1 July 1983) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He was inducted into the Geelong Hall of Fame in 2011. A strong marking ruckman, Chambers was cleared to Geelong in 1924, having been on Essendon's list. Chambers was a half forward flanker in the Geelong team which won the 1925 VFL Grand Final, their first ever premiership. George "Jocka" Todd (10 January 1903 – 13 August 1986) was an Australian rules footballer in the (then) Victorian Football League (VFL). Football A tight checking full-back who spoiled well, Todd played his whole career with Geelong Football Club. George was recruited from Queenscliff Football Club and played mainly at centre half-forward before transferring to the back line where he played the majority of his games as full back. Arthur William Rayson (1 December 1898 – 21 January 1970) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Geelong in the VFL. Family The son of George Rayson (1873-1960), and Minnie Rayson (1876-1939), née Dawson, Arthur William Rayson was born at Dunolly, Victoria on 1 December 1898.
