1925 Baylor Bears Football Team
The 1925 Baylor Bears football team was an American football team that represented Baylor University in the Southwest Conference (SWC) during the 1925 college football season. In its sixth and final season under head coach Frank Bridges, the team compiled a 3–5–2 record (0–3–2 against conference opponents), finished in last place in the conference, and was outscored by a total of 115 to 79. The team played its home games at the Cotton Palace in Waco, Texas. Homer D. Walker was the team captain. The Southwest Conference (SWC) was an NCAA Division I college athletic conference in the United States that existed from 1914 to 1996. Composed primarily of schools from Texas, at various times the conference included schools from Oklahoma and Arkansas. For most of its history, the core members of the conference were Texas-based schools plus one in Arkansas: Baylor University, Rice University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, Texas Christian University, Texas Tech University, the University of Arkansas and the University of Texas at Austin. Wendel D. Ley Track and Holloway Field is a stadium in Houston, Texas. It is primarily used for track and field and soccer for the Rice University Owls. It is bounded by Main Street (southeast), University Boulevard (southwest), Reckling Park baseball field (west) and open athletic fields (north). The stadium sits on the location of Rice Field, Rice's old football stadium which opened in 1913 and was used until the opening of Rice Stadium in 1950. The Cotton Bowl is an outdoor stadium in Dallas, Texas, United States. Opened in 1930 as Fair Park Stadium, it is on the site of the State Fair of Texas, known as Fair Park.
