The 1921–22 season was the 21st season of competitive Association football, football played by Cardiff City F.C. and the team's first in the Football League First Division, First Division of English Football League, The Football League. Cardiff had won Promotion and relegation, promotion the 1920–21 Cardiff City F.C. season, previous season by finishing as runners-up in the Football League Second Division, Second Division, becoming the first Football in Wales, Welsh team to reach the top tier of English football. Cardiff had a difficult start to the season, losing the first six matches of the campaign. They eventually saw results improve and finished in fourth place. Cardiff (; cy, Caerdydd ) is the capital and largest city of Wales.
