1921 Copa Del Rey Final
The 1921 Copa del Rey Final was the 21st final of the Spanish cup competition, the Copa del Rey. The final was played at San Mamés, in Bilbao, on 8 May 1921. Athletic Bilbao beat Athletic Madrid 4–1 courtesy of two braces from José María Laca and Domingo Acedo, a victory that asssured their eighth domestic cup title. The match was the first meeting between the 'two Athletics' who had begun as the same club, with the parent in Bilbao and the subsidiary in Madrid. The Copa del Rey 1921 was the 21st staging of the Copa del Rey, the Spanish football cup competition. The competition started on 9 April 1921, and concluded on 8 May 1921, with the Final, held at the San Mamés in Bilbao, in which Athletic Bilbao lifted the trophy for the eighth time with a 4–1 victory over Athletic Madrid thanks to two braces from José María Laca and Domingo Acedo. Real Unión
Real Unión Club, S.A.D. is a Spanish football club based in Irun, in the autonomous community of the Basque Country, in the province of Gipuzkoa, near the border with France. Miguel Durán Terry, better known by his nickname Pololo (5 August 1901 – October 1934), was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender for Athletic Madrid. He was assassinated in Oviedo during the Asturias Revolution of 1934. Club career Miguel Durán Terry was born in Asturias as the only son of Miguel Durán Walkinshaw, director of ''la fábrica de Explosivos de Coruño y Santa Bárbara'' (an Explosives factory). Ramón Olalquiaga Borne (30 August 1898 – 31 January 1990), sometimes spelled as Ramón Olalkiaga, was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward for Athletic Madrid, and later a coach, engineer and professor of agronomy. Club career Born in Gipuzkoa to a local veterinarian, he studied Marianist studies in San Sebastián and later studied agronomic engineering in Madrid. Billy Barnes (footballer)
Billy Barnes (20 May 1879 – 1962) was a professional footballer from West Ham, Essex. Originally debuting for Thames Ironworks, he moved to Sheffield United and scored the winning goal in the 1902 FA Cup final replay. Later on in his career he won two Southern Football League titles and took part in two Charity Shield matches including the first time it was held. Sabino Bilbao Líbano (11 December 1897 – 20 January 1983) was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder. Football career Born in Leioa, Biscay, Sabino played six seasons with Athletic Bilbao (1918–24), prior to the creation of La Liga. José María de Belausteguigoitia Landaluce (3 September 1889 – 4 September 1964), known as Belauste, was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Bilbao, Biscay, Belauste played with Athletic Bilbao from ages 15–36. His game was based on a physical display, as he stood at 1.93 meters and weighed 95 kilograms. Francisco Belausteguigoitia Landaluce (3 September 1897 - 26 April 1981), nicknamed Pacho and also known as Belauste III, was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder. His brothers, José María and Ramón, were also footballers. His great-granddaughter, Bibiane Schulze, also is a footballer who represented the Athletic Club women's team. Luis Hurtado (Spanish Footballer)
Luis José Emilio Hurtado Gaminde (6 April 1892 - Unknown) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender. He spent all 16 seasons of his playing career with Athletic Bilbao, thus being a historical member of the club and part of the so-called one-club men group. He played a pivotal role in helping the Basque club reach eight Copa del Reys finals, of which he played in seven (missed the 1911 Copa del Rey Final) and won five, including three in a row between 1914 and 1916, which makes him one of the players with the best record of the competition. Luis Beguiristain Echeverría (22 December 1896 - Unknown) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender. Club career Born in Bilbao, he moved to Madrid as a child, where he began his career in 1914 with Athletic Madrid, with whom he played for three years. He also played for his hometown club Athletic Bilbao, making his debut on 12 August 1920 in a 3-2 friendly victory over Barcelona, but only made his competitive debut on 3 April 1921 in a Copa del Rey match against Sporting de Gijón at the San Mamés.
