1919 Eternal
''1919 Eternal'' (also stylized as ''1919''★''Eternal'') is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Black Label Society. It was released on March 5, 2002 and was written for Zakk Wylde's father. Writing Five songs from the album sessions were written by Zakk Wylde for Ozzy Osbourne's album '' Down to Earth''. Osbourne rejected the songs because they were "too Black Label", so Wylde kept them for this album. The songs were "Bleed for Me", "Life, Birth, Blood, Doom", "Demise of Sanity", an alternate piano version of "Bridge to Cross", and a demo called "Find a Way". The latter two were never released. These original demo songs featured drummer Christian Werr, a friend of Wylde's who happened to be in the right place at the right time to record the tracks. Black Label Society
Black Label Society is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1998 by guitarist/singer Zakk Wylde. To date, the band has released eleven studio albums, two live albums, two compilation albums, one EP, and three video albums. History ''Sonic Brew'' and Formation (1998–1999) In the early 1990s, Wylde had formed his own solo band Pride & Glory, playing a mixture of bluesy Southern rock with heavy metal. However, they disbanded in December 1994 after having released only one album. Wylde subsequently recorded an acoustic solo album, ''Book of Shadows'' (1996). In May 1998, after limited commercial success with ''Book of Shadows'', Wylde and drummer Phil Ondich recorded what became Black Label Society's debut album ''Sonic Brew''. ''Down to Earth'' is the eighth studio album by British heavy metal vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. Released on 16 October 2001, it reached number 19 on the UK Albums Chart and number four on the US ''Billboard'' 200. "The Ozzfest was doing well", Osbourne explained. "I just wanted to be like the Grateful Dead and keep it going by touring, but the record company said they'd like a new Ozzy album." ''Down to Earth'' spawned just two singles, although both reached the top ten of the US Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and reached number 18 on the UK Singles Chart. Roberto Agustín Miguel Santiago Samuel Trujillo Veracruz (; born October 23, 1964) is an American musician, best known as the bassist for Heavy metal music, heavy metal band Metallica since 2003. He first rose to prominence as the bassist of crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies from 1989 to 1995, while also collaborating with Suicidal Tendencies frontman Mike Muir for funk metal supergroup Infectious Grooves. America The Beautiful
"America the Beautiful" is a patriotic American song. Its lyrics were written by Katharine Lee Bates and its music was composed by church organist and choirmaster Samuel A. Ward at Grace Episcopal Church in Newark, New Jersey. The two never met. Bates wrote the words as a poem originally entitled "Pikes Peak". It was first published in the Fourth of July 1895 edition of the church periodical, ''The Congregationalist''. It was at that time that the poem was first entitled "America". Ward had initially composed the song's melody in 1882 to accompany lyrics to "Materna", basis of the hymn, " O Mother dear, Jerusalem", though the hymn was not first published until 1892. Katharine Lee Bates (August 12, 1859 – March 28, 1929) was an American author and poet, chiefly remembered for her anthem "America the Beautiful", but also for her many books and articles on social reform, on which she was a noted speaker. Bates enjoyed close links with Wellesley College, Massachusetts, where she had graduated with a B.A., and later became a professor of English literature, helping to launch American literature as an academic speciality, and writing one of the first-ever college textbooks on it. She never married, possibly because she would have lost tenure if she had. Throughout her long career at Wellesley, she shared a house with her close friend and companion Katharine Coman.
