1913 Pyrenees Cup
The 1913 Pyrenees Cup was the 4th tournament of the Pyrenees Cup, one of the first international football club competitions. The competition was held on the road between 2 March and 8 June, and it was won by FC Barcelona after easily disposing of La Comète et Simiot 7–2 in the final at Camp de la Indústria. Participants Originally, the tournament was to be contested by 7 teams, however, the 1912–13 season saw a split in Spanish football, with several Spanish teams led by Barcelona and Real Sociedad, announcing their departure from the Federación Española de Clubs de Fútbol (FECF) (the forerunner for the Royal Spanish Football Federation, RFEF) and created a new institution, the Unión Española de Clubs de Fútbol (UECF). Marca Hispanica
The Hispanic March or Spanish March ( es, Marca Hispánica, ca, Marca Hispànica, Aragonese and oc, Marca Hispanica, eu, Hispaniako Marka, french: Marche d'Espagne), was a military buffer zone beyond the former province of Septimania, established by Charlemagne in 795 as a defensive barrier between the Umayyad Moors of Al-Andalus and the Frankish Carolingian Empire (Duchy of Gascony, the Duchy of Aquitaine and Carolingian Septimania). In its broader meaning, ''Hispanic March'' sometimes refers to a group of early Iberian and trans-Pyrenean lordships or counts coming under Frankish rule. FC Sète 34
FC Sète 34 is the current name of a French football club based in Sète and founded in 1901 as Olympique de Cette. The club has won the French league title twice (in 1934 and 1939) and the French cup also twice (1930 and 1934). In 1934 they became the first club to win the French league and cup double. At the time, they were using the Georges-Bayrou Stadium. Until 1960, the club played a major role in the French football championship, but due to financial issues, it was forced to give up professional status. From the 1970s until 2005, the club played in secondary levels, before accessing Ligue 2 for one season after finishing at the 3rd rank of Championnat National. Antonio Morales
Antonio Morales Veloso (6 December 1889 – 7 November 1967), sometimes referred to by some sources as Arsenio Morales was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward for Club Español de Madrid, RS Gimnástica and FC Barcelona. His brother Rafael Morales (Morales II), was also a FC Barcelona footballer. Club career Born in Madrid, he began his career in the youth ranks of his hometown club Moncloa Football Club, with whom he played for three seasons. Alfredo Massana
Alfredo Massana Urgellés (27 July 1891 - 24 March 1924), was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder for Espanyol and FC Barcelona. He had a great placement and vision of the game. Known as a great dribbler, he was one of the best Catalan midfielders of his time. His brother, Santiago Massana, also played for Espanyol and Barcelona. He is also the grandfather of the pianist Tete Montoliu. Paulino Alcántara
Paulino Alcántara Riestrá (7 October 1896 – 13 February 1964) was a football player and manager who played as a forward. Born in the Philippines, he spent most of his playing career at Barcelona, and also represented Catalonia, the Philippines and Spain internationally. Alcántara made his debut for Barcelona at the age of 15, and remains the youngest player to play or score for the club. He scored 395 goals in 399 official and friendly matches, a club record that stood for 87 years. After retiring as a player in 1927 at the age of 31, he became a doctor. Alcántara served as a club director between 1931 and 1934. In 1951, Alcántara became a coach and managed Spain for three games. José Berdié
José Berdié Places (1887 – 31 January 1931), sometimes written as Verdié, was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder for Espanyol and FC Barcelona. He won two Copa del Rey titles with the latter. A hat-trick or hat trick is the achievement of a generally positive feat three times in a match, or another achievement based on the number three. Origin The term first appeared in 1858 in cricket, to describe H. H. Stephenson taking three wickets with three consecutive deliveries. Fans held a collection for Stephenson, and presented him with a hat bought with the proceeds. The term was used in print for the first time in 1865 in the ''Chelmsford Chronicle''.
