1913 Cork Senior Hurling Championship
The 1913 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 26th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. Blackrock were the defending champions. On 30 November 1913, Blackrock won the championship following a 3–3 to 2–3 defeat of Midleton in the final. This was their 14th championship title overall and their fourth title in succession. Cork Athletic Grounds
The Cork Athletic Grounds was a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) stadium where major hurling and football matches were played. Situated in the Ballintemple area of Cork in Ireland, it was the home of Cork GAA between 1904 and 1974. The stadium was demolished in 1974 and replaced by Páirc Uí Chaoimh. History In late 1902 an attempt was made by the Cork County Board of the GAA to provide Cork city with a dedicated athletic stadium. A new company, the Cork Athletic Grounds Committee Ltd., was established under the chairmanship of James Crosbie. The county board invested £30 in the venture and a member of the board was appointed as a director. The subscriptions for the share capital reached sufficient funds, and in early 1903 a lease for six acres was drawn up between the Cork Agricultural Society, the Cork Corporation and the Cork County Board treasurer John FitzGerald. Glen Rovers GAA
Glen Rovers is a Cork-based Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Blackpool, Cork, Ireland. The club was founded in 1916 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. They were Cork senior hurling champions in 2015 and 2016, having won their first title in 26 years in 2015. They retained the championship in 2016, when they beat Erin's Own in the final. Only Blackrock have won more Cork senior hurling championships. Hurling Colours In the early days of the club, its colours were green, white and gold. The Easter Rising and the execution of the leaders took place in the same year the Glen was founded. These events left such an impression on the minds of the Irish public that it was decided to add a black band to the jersey to honour the recently deceased patriots. The 1938 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 50th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place at the Cork Convention on 30 January 1938. The championship began on 13 March 1938 and ended on 16 October 1938. Glen Rovers were the defending champions. On 16 October 1938, Glen Rovers won the championship following a 5-06 to 1-03 defeat of Midleton in the final. This was their fifth championship title and the fifth of eight successive championships. Fermoy GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association based in the town of Fermoy, Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in competitions organized by the Cork GAA county board and the Avondhu GAA divisional board. The club plays both Gaelic football and hurling. Dungourney GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Dungourney, County Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in both Gaelic football and hurling. It is a member of the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. The club was one of the strongest clubs in the Cork during the first decade of the 20th century. Aghabullogue GAA are a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Cork, Ireland. They are affiliated to the Cork County Board and play in the mid-Cork ( Muskerry) division of Cork GAA. Aghabullogue cater for both hurling and Gaelic football. History Aghabullogue have a long tradition of hurling. In 1890, they won the Cork Senior Hurling Championship. By the rules of the GAA at that time, this victory allowed Aghabullogue to go on and represent Cork in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. They later collected a Munster title following a victory over Kerry. There was controversy in the subsequent All-Ireland final when an Aghabullogue men left the field after one of the players had his toe broken by a Wexford man's hurley. Cloughduv GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association based in the village of Cloughduv in County Cork, Ireland. The club is a member of the Muskerry division of Cork GAA. The club fields hurling team only. There are two Gaelic football clubs in the parish (Kilmurry parish) - Canovee and Kilmurry - and there is often an overlap of players between the different clubs. Redmonds is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Cork in County Cork, Ireland. The club is situated in Tower Street, on the southside of the city. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions and in Seandún divisional board competitions.
