1911–12 Kangaroo Tour Of Great Britain
The 1911–12 Kangaroo tour of Great Britain was the second ever Kangaroo tour and was actually a tour by an " Australasian" squad that included four New Zealand players in addition to 24 Australian representatives. It took place over the British winter of 1911–12 and this time, to help promote the game of Rugby league in New Zealand, the Northern Rugby Football Union invited a combined Australian and New Zealand team. They became the first tourists to win the Ashes. and the last to do so on British soil for over half a century. The tour was a success in performance and organisation. Chris McKivat
Christopher Hobart McKivat (alternatively spelled McKivatt, pronounced ; 27 November 1880 − 4 May 1941) was an Australian rugby union and rugby league player – a dual-code rugby international. He represented the Wallabies in over 20 Tests and tour matches from 1907 to 1909 and the Kangaroos in 5 Tests from 1910 to 1912. He is unique in Australian rugby history as the only man to captain both the national rugby union and rugby league teams. Following his playing career he became the most successful coach of North Sydney in the club's history. 1908–09 Australia Rugby Union Tour Of Britain
The 1908–09 Australia rugby union tour of the British Isles was a collection of friendly rugby union games undertaken by the Australia national rugby union team against invitational and national teams from England and Wales, as well as several games against sides from North America. This was the first Australian tour of the Northern Hemisphere and the side is sometimes referred to as the "First Wallabies". Billy Farnsworth
Andrew William Farnsworth (14 January 1887 – 30 October 1966) was an Australian pioneer rugby league footballer who played in the 1910s whose club career was played in Sydney with Newtown. He represented at state level for both New South Wales and Queensland, and at the national level for Australia and Australasia. He is the brother of fellow New South Wales and Australian representative, and Newtown player Viv Farnsworth. Peter Burge (rugby)
Peter Harold Boyne Burge (14 February 1884 – 15 July 1956) was an Australian rugby footballer and coach. He represented his country in both rugby league and rugby union. The eldest of the four Burge brothers, Peter was one of the first Australian dual-code rugby internationals. Rugby union career Playing rugby union with South Sydney in 1904 the twenty-year-old Burge was selected for the Metropolis (City) representative side against the Great Britain tourists. Bob Williams (rugby League)
Robert Williams (1886–1969) was a pioneer Australian rugby league footballer for the Eastern Suburbs club. Playing career Williams, a dock worker from Woolloomooloo, had a distinguished career with the Eastern Suburbs club. He was a long serving member who was one of the first to play in 100 matches for the club. The rugby union convert played in 118 matches for the Tri-colours in ten seasons over the years 1910–18 and 1920. Williams, or 'Botsy' as he was better known, won premierships with Eastern Suburbs in 1911, 1912 and 1913, taking out rugby league's first permanent trophy - the RAS shield. Dan Frawley (1882–1967) was a pioneer Australian rugby league footballer, a national representative player. Charles Herbert "Jeff" McMurtrie (1 May 1881 – 9 August 1951) was a pioneer Australian rugby union and rugby league footballer who represented his country at both sports.
