1910 VFL Season
The 1910 VFL season was the 14th season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured ten clubs, ran from 30 April until 1 October, and comprised an 18-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. The premiership was won by the Collingwood Football Club for the third time, after it defeated by 14 points in the 1910 VFL Grand Final. Premiership season In 1910, the VFL competition comprised ten teams of 18 on-the-field players each, with no "reserves", although any of the 18 players who had left the playing field for any reason could later resume their place on the field at any time during the match. Each team played each other twice in a home-and-away season of 18 rounds. Percy Martini
Percy Francis Joseph Martini (4 June 1888 – 1 July 1961) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family He married May Victoria Machar (1887–1928) in 1913. Football A full-forward, from 1909 until 1919 he was Geelong's leading goalkicker in every season except 1915. Bert Streckfuss
Albert Frederick Streckfuss (22 September 1888 – 23 June 1974) was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL), and with Williamstown and Port Melbourne in the Victorian Football Association (VFA). Family The son of Heinrich Moritz Streckfuss (1833-1917), and his second wife, Lina Streckfuss (1848-1918), née Lohse, Albert Frederick Streckfuss was born in Goornong, Victoria on 22 September 1888. He married Lilian Victoria Chambers in 1912. George Topping
George Thomas Dungate Topping (27 August 1881 – 17 November 1958) was an Australian rules footballer and umpire in the Victorian Football League. Playing career Originally recruited from Carlton Juniors, Topping made his debut for the Carlton Football Club in Round 10 of the 1902 season. Playing mainly in the forward line, he was a good marker and accurate kicker with a good sense of where to go to get the ball. His firepower was vital in Carlton's hat-trick of premierships from 1906 to 1908, with totals of 25, 26, and 16 goals in those respective seasons. The following year, the Blues were just beaten by South Melbourne in the grand final, but Topping had his best scoring year with a total of 36 goals and playing in every match. The Coleman Medal is an Australian rules football award given annually to the Australian Football League (AFL) player who kicks the most goals in the home-and-away season. Fitzroy Football Club
The Fitzroy Football Club is an Australian rules football club currently competing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). Formed in 1883 to represent the inner-Melbourne municipality of Fitzroy, the club was a member of the Victorian Football Association (VFA), before becoming a foundation member of the breakaway Victorian Football League (VFL/AFL) in 1897. The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL).
