1910 College Football All-America Team
The 1910 College Football All-America team is composed of college football players who were selected as All-Americans for the 1910 college football season. The only selector for the 1910 season who has been recognized as "official" by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is Walter Camp. Many other sports writers, newspapers, coaches and others also selected All-America teams in 1910. The magazine ''Leslie's Weekly'' attempted to develop a consensus All-American by polling 16 football experts and aggregating their votes. Others who selected All-Americans in 1911 include ''The New York Times'', ''The New York Sun'', and sports writer Wilton S. Farnsworth of the ''New York Evening Journal''. The 1910 Harvard Crimson football team compiled a record of 9–0–1 and outscored opponents 161 to 5. Harvard allowed only one team to score a point and played Yale to a 0–0 tie. College Football All-America Team
The College Football All-America Team is an honor given annually to the best college football players in the United States at their respective positions. The original use of the term ''All-America'' seems to have been to the 1889 College Football All-America Team selected by Caspar Whitney and published in ''This Week's Sports''. Football pioneer Walter Camp also began selecting All-America teams in the 1890s and was recognized as the official selector in the early years of the 20th century. Percy Wendell
Percy Langdon "Bullet" Wendell (July 16, 1889 – March 13, 1932) was an American football player and coach of football and basketball. He played college football at Harvard University, where he was a three-time All-American from 1910 to 1920. Wendell served as the head football coach at Boston University in 1920, at Williams College from 1921 to 1924, and at Lehigh University from 1925 to 1927, compiling a career college football coaching record of 30–33–4. He was also the head basketball coach at Boston University for one season, in 1919–20, tallying a mark of 0–6. Wendell was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1972. New York Rangers
The New York Rangers are a professional ice hockey team based in the New York City borough of Manhattan. John Kilpatrick
John Reed Kilpatrick (June 15, 1889 – May 7, 1960) was an American athlete, soldier, and sports businessperson. He is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame. Kilpatrick was born to a Canadian mother and American father, raised in New York City, and later attended Yale University. He competed in football and track and field, and was recognized as one of the top players of the era. After college, he worked in New York City before being drafted to serve in the United States Army in World War I. During this service, he won several honors including the Distinguished Service Medal. After the war, he commenced a successful business career in New York that led him to becoming the president of the Madison Square Garden Corporation. Kilpatrick ran Madison Square Garden for more than twenty-five years, personally overseeing the operations of the New York Rangers NHL club from 1935 to 1960. Bob Fisher (American Football Coach)
Robert T. Fisher (December 3, 1888 – July 7, 1942) was an American football player and coach. He played college football at Harvard University and was a consensus All-American in 1910 and 1911. He served as the head football coach at Harvard from 1919 to 1925, compiling a record of 43–14–5 and winning the 1920 Rose Bowl. His 1919 team was retroactively recognized as a national champion by a number of selectors. Fisher was one of the original trustees for the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1973. Playing career Fisher was born on December 3, 1888 in Boston. Ernest Cozens
Ernest Brazier Cozens (November 24, 1888 – June 8, 1929) was an American football player and college administrator. He was one of the first "roving centers" in American football and was named an All-American in 1910. Athlete Born in Haddonfield, New Jersey, Cozens attended the Haverford School where he played football, baseball and cricket. He enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania in 1907 and became one of the greatest athletes in the school's history. He was selected as an All-American at the center in 1910, and also won All-Eastern honors in baseball. James Walker (American Football Player)
James Cloudsley Walker, Jr. (March 22, 1890 – September 1, 1973) was an American football player. He played college football at the tackle position for the University of Minnesota. He was selected as a first-team All-American by Walter Camp in 1910. He was also selected by E.C. Patterson of ''Collier's'' as an All-Western player in 1910. Walker attended Los Angeles High School. From there, he enrolled in medical study at Minnesota and played football for the Golden Gophers for two years. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in 1914. He was an intern at Park View Hospital in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and at Minneapolis City Hospital. In 1915, he became a fellow in orthopedic surgery at Minnesota's Mayo Foundation.
