1909 Copa Del Rey Final
The 1909 Copa del Rey Final was the 7th final of the Spanish cup competition, the Copa del Rey. The final was played at Campo de O'Donnell in Madrid on 8 April 1909. The match was won by Club Ciclista, who beat Español de Madrid 3–1. The Ciclista goals were scored by George McGuinness, Charles Simmons and Miguel Sena, with José Giralt reducing the deficit for Español de Madrid late on. The final was played under a heavy downpour and with low temperatures. The match was tough and although Español de Madrid took the initiative, their attack collided again and again with the San Sebastian defense that did take advantage of the opportunities they enjoyed. After 90 minutes of unsuccessful domination from Español de Madrid (they even missed a penalty for a handball in the area), the referee blew the whistle for the end of the match with a result of 3 to 1 for San Sebastián Cycling Club, which was proclaimed Champion of Spain for the first time. 1909 Copa Del Rey
The 1909 Copa del Rey was the 7th staging of the Copa del Rey, the Spanish football cup competition. The competition started on 4 April 1909, and concluded on 8 April 1909, with the final, held at the O'Donnell, in Madrid, in which Club Ciclista de San Sebastián lifted the trophy for the first time ever with a 3–1 victory over Español Madrid. The Basque goalscorers were George McGuinness, Charles Simmons and Miguel Sena. Club Ciclista de San Sebastián are the predecessors of Real Sociedad. After winning the cup trophy, on 7 September 1909 the players of Club Ciclista founded a new in club in San Sebastián, called Vasconia, later changing the name to Real Sociedad. Antonio Sánchez de Neyra Castro (16 March 1884 – Unknown) was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward for Madrid FC, Club Español de Madrid and RCD Espanyol. Armando Giralt Iduate (23 March 1885 - 21 April 1948) was a Cuban-born Spanish footballer who played as a forward for Madrid FC, Club Español de Madrid and RCD Espanyol. José Manuel Kindelán
José Manuel Kindelán Duany (8 October 1887 – 9 November 1919) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender for RCD Espanyol and Sociedad Gimnástica. Manuel Yarza (1884 – Unknown) was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder who played for Madrid FC (now known as Real Madrid). Mariano Jesús Lacort Tolosana (14 January 1888 - 1 August 1936) was a Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder for Real Sociedad.
