1908 Wabash Little Giants Football Team
The 1908 Wabash Little Giants football team represented Wabash College during the 1908 college football season. In Ralph Jones's first season as head coach, the Little Giants compiled a 2–6 record, but still managed to outscore their opponents 95 to 65, thanks to a 62–0 blowout of Franklin in the season opener, and a plethora of close losses against , St. Louis, Michigan Agricultural, Miami (OH), and Notre Dame, all of which were one score games. Wabash's most notable and impressive contest was against Notre Dame, when the Little Giant's held the 8–1 Fighting Irish to 8 points and scored 4 of their own, the best showing put up against the team besides Michigan. The Little Giant's also held an undefeated Michigan Agricultural and Miami of Ohio to 6 points. Ralph Robert "Curley" Jones (September 22, 1880 – July 26, 1951) was an American high school and college American football, football and college basketball, basketball coach. He also served as the head coach for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL) from 1930 to 1932, leading them to the 1932 1932 NFL Playoff Game, NFL championship. The 1908 Nebraska Cornhuskers football team represented the University of Nebraska as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) during the 1908 college football season. The team was coached by second-year head coach William C. "King" Cole and played its home games at Antelope Field in Lincoln, Nebraska. This was the final year Nebraska played home games at Antelope Field. Miami Field was a multi-purpose stadium at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. History It opened in 1896 as Athletic Park. It was home to the RedHawks college football team prior to the Yager Stadium opening in 1983. The stadium had a capacity of 7,240 by 1928. When it closed in 1982 capacity was 14,800. At that time, it was the second oldest college football stadium after Franklin Field. Almost immediately upon Miami Field being razed, new campus buildings were constructed on the site, the largest of which being Pearson Hall. Old College Field
Old College Field is an area on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. The school broke ground in 1900 to provide a place for the varsity baseball team to play. Today, the area includes facilities for baseball, soccer, and softball. It is located on a floodplain on the inside of a bend in the Red Cedar River. The 1908 Michigan Wolverines football team represented the University of Michigan in the 1908 college football season. The team's head coach was Fielding H. Yost in his eighth year at Michigan. The team compiled a 5–2–1 record, outscored opponents 128 to 81, and held five of seven opponents to six points or less.
