Copa Del Rey 1908
The Copa del Rey 1908 was the 6th staging of the Copa del Rey, the Spanish football cup competition. It started and ended on 12 April. Athletic Bilbao refused to enter to protest the behaviour of Madrid supporters at some games of the previous tournament. Other teams invited, like the Catalan champion X Sporting Club, declined the invitation for economic reasons. Ultimately, only two teams were entered: Madrid FC and Real Vigo Sporting. The tournament was won by Madrid FC, who claimed their fourth Cup title in a row. They beat Vigo Sporting 2–1 in the final thanks to goals from Antonio Neyra and Federico Revuelto. José Angel Berraondo Insausti (born 4 November 1878 in San Sebastián and died 11 April 1950) was a Spanish footballer, referee and manager. He was one of the most important figures of Spain's football at the beginning and middle of the 20th century, as a player, captain, club founder, manager, referee, director, vice-president and even as a national coach. Berraondo was one of the most important figures in the amateur beginnings of Real Madrid, then known as ''Madrid CF'', serving as its captain from 1904 until 1909, and thus playing a crucial role in Madrid's four consecutive Copa del Rey titles between 1905 and 1908. José Rodríguez Vázquez (20 August 1889 - 1972), also known as Pepe Rodríguez, was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward for FC Barcelona. In his first season at Barcelona (1909–10), Pepe won all the titles at stake: The Catalan championship, Copa del Rey and Pyrenees Cup, and he was fundamental in Barça's triumphs as he netted the winning goal in both cup finals. Pepe scored in both cup finals in 1912 as well. In 1912, he was part of the first-ever team fielded by the Catalan national team in an international match recognized by FIFA. Joaquín Yarza Ormazábal, also known as Quincho Yarza (1881 - 1972), was a Spanish Association football, footballer who played as a midfielder for Real Madrid CF, Madrid FC. Enrique Normand Faurie (4 December 1885 - 14 October 1955) was a Franco-Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder. He was a historic player for Real Madrid (then known as Madrid Football Club) during the 1900s and 1910s, playing with the club for 13 years, and winning the Copa del Rey four times in a row, between 1905 and 1908.
