1907 U.S. National Championships – Women's Singles
Evelyn Sears won the singles tennis title of the 1907 U.S. Women's National Singles Championship by defeating Carrie Neely 6–3, 6–2 in the final of the All Comers' tournament. Helen Homans was the reigning champion but did not defend her title in the Challenge Round. The event was played on outdoor grass courts and held at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in Wissahickon Heights, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia from June 25 through July 2, 1907. Evelyn Sears
Evelyn Georgianna Sears (March 9, 1875 – November 10, 1966) was an American tennis player at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1907, she won the U.S. National Championship women's singles title, after beating Carrie Neely 6–3, 6–2 in the All-Comers final and the default of reigning champion Helen Homans in the Challenge Round. She also won the women's doubles title in 1908 with Margaret Curtis, beating Carrie Neely and Miriam Steever, 6–3, 5–7, 9–7.
