1900–01 French Rugby Union Championship
The 1900–01 French Rugby Union Championship of first division was won by Stade Français by defeating SBUC in the final. Stade Français was declared French Champion after Stade Bordelais refused to replay the final following a protest lodged by their opponent. Stade Français contested that, after the merging of Stade Bordelais and Bordeaux U.C., three player of the second of them, had not waited three months before playing for their new team. The federation (USFSA) annulled the match and decided to repeat the match in Paris. Qualification Round France was divided into 3 regions, the winner of the Seine region, was directly qualified to contest the final. Stade Français had won that final against Le Havre AC (21–0). Stade Bordelais had defeated F.C. Lyon (11–4) winner of the Rhone region championship, after winning the Garonne region championship. Stade Français Paris Rugby () is a French professional rugby union club based in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. The club plays in the Top 14 domestic league in France and is one of the most successful French clubs of the modern era. The original Stade Français was founded in 1883. In its current form, the club was founded in 1995 with the merger of the rugby sections of the Stade Français and Club Athlétique des Sports Généraux (CASG). Its traditional home is Stade Jean-Bouin, though the club has recently played some home games at the 80,000-seat Stade de France, taking anywhere from two to five matches to the larger venue each season since 2005–06. From 2010 to 2013, the team played temporarily at the 20,000-capacity Stade Charléty in Paris to allow a new stadium to be built at the Jean-Bouin site.
