The 1900 Auburn Tigers football team represented Auburn University in the 1900 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. It was the Tigers' 9th overall season and they competed as a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA). The team was led by head coach Walter H. The team was led by head coach Malcolm Griffin, in his first season, and played their home games at The Quad in Tuscaloosa and one game at North Birmingham Park in Birmingham, Alabama. In what was the eighth season of Alabama football, the team finished with a record of two wins and three losses (2–3, 1–3 SIAA). The Crimson White opened the season with three consecutive games at The Quad. After a shutout victory over the Taylor School, Alabama opened SIAA play with a 12–5 victory over Ole Miss. However, the Crimson White did proceed to lose their final three games en route to a 2–3 record. The Auburn Tigers are the athletic teams representing Auburn University, a public four-year coeducational university located in Auburn, Alabama, United States. The Auburn–Georgia football rivalry is a college football rivalry game between the Auburn Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. The two teams first played each other in 1892, and the rivalry has been renewed annually since 1944 for a total of 126 games as of 2021. The 1900 Georgia Bulldogs football team represented the Georgia Bulldogs of the University of Georgia during the 1900 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. The Bulldogs competed as a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) and completed the season with a 2–4 record; no improvement at all over the previous year's mark under coach Gordon Saussy (2–3–1). Although the season started well with back-to-back victories, including Georgia's fourth straight victory over Georgia Tech, it ended with four consecutive losses. In fact, Georgia was outscored 99–0 in the last two games of the season at the hands of North Carolina and Auburn. Matters were not helped by the fact that Georgia only had three starting players return to the team from the 1899 team. The Alabama–Auburn football rivalry, better known as the Iron Bowl, is an American college football rivalry game between the Auburn University Tigers and University of Alabama Crimson Tide, both charter members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and both teams located in the state of Alabama.
