1899 College Football Season
The 1899 college football season had no clear-cut champion, with the ''Official NCAA Division I Football Records Book'' listing Harvard and Princeton as having been selected national champions. Chicago, Kansas, and Sewanee went undefeated. With just 13 players, the Sewanee team, known as the "Iron Men", had a six-day road trip with five shutout wins over Texas A&M; Texas; Tulane; LSU; and Ole Miss. 1899 Harvard Crimson Football Team
The 1899 Harvard Crimson football team was an American football team that represented Harvard University as an independent during the 1899 college football season. In its first season under head coach Benjamin Dibblee, the Crimson compiled a 10–0–1 record, shut out 10 of 11 opponents, and outscored all opponents by a total of 210 to 10. There was no contemporaneous system in 1899 for determining a national champion. However, Harvard was retroactively named as the national champion by the Helms Athletic Foundation, Houlgate System, and National Championship Foundation. Princeton compiled a 12–1 record and was named the national champion by two other selectors. Kalamazoo College, also known as Kalamazoo, K College, KC or simply K, is a private liberal arts college in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association
The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) is an athletic conference that competes in the NCAA's Division III. There are nine teams in the conference, all located in the states of Michigan and Indiana. The Northern Illinois Huskies football team are a college football program representing Northern Illinois University (NIU) in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of college football. The Furman Paladins football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the Furman University located in the state of South Carolina.
