''Svenska Dagbladet'' (, "The Swedish Daily News"), abbreviated SvD, is a daily newspaper published in Stockholm, Sweden. History and profile The first issue of ''Svenska Dagbladet'' appeared on 18 December 1884. During the beginning of the 1900s the paper was one of the right-wing publications in Stockholm. Ivar Anderson is among its former editors-in-chief who assumed the post in 1940. The same year ''Svenska Dagbladet'' was sold by Trygger family to the Enterprise Fund which had been established by fourteen Swedish businessmen to secure the ownership of the paper. The paper is published in Stockholm and provides coverage of national and international news as well as local coverage of the Greater Stockholm region. Its subscribers are concentrated in the capital, but it is distributed in most of Sweden. Therese Kamph
Therese Kamph (1836–1884), was a Swedish educator. She was the principal of the ''Kjellbergska flickskolan'' in Gothenburg from 1872 until her death in 1884. She is credited with having developed the school to one of the foremost institutions for secondary education for women in Sweden. Life Therese Kamph was born on 25 February 1836, on an estate in Hammarö, Värmland, the second youngest of nine children to Per Fredrik Kamph, a regiment commissar. She was a student of a teacher's seminar in Hamburg, and at the ''Högre lärarinneseminariet'' in Stockholm in 1870–72. She died on 19 October 1884, in Gothenburg. Lovisa Charlotta Borgman, later Biörck (1798, in Gothenburg – 1884), was a Swedish violinist. She was a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music The Royal Swedish Academy of Music ( sv, Kungliga Musikaliska Akademien), founded in 1771 by King Gustav III, is one of the Royal Academies in Sweden. At the time of its foundation, only one of its co-founder was a professional musician, Ferdin ... from 1853 (seat 388). Borgman and her elder sister was a student of Johan Fredrik Berwald. Carolina Desideria Granberg also known as Carolina Friebel (Stockholm, 31 March 1818 - 2 October 1884), was a Swedish ballerina. She was considered as one of the leading members of the Royal Swedish Ballet. Gösta Lilliehöök (1884–1974)
Gustaf Malcolm "Gösta" Lilliehöök (25 May 1884 – 18 November 1974) was a Swedish officer and modern pentathlete. He won a gold medal in the first contested modern pentathlon at the Olympic Games in 1912. Career Lilliehöök was born on 25 May 1884 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of First Marshal of the Court Carl Malcolm Lilliehöök and his wife Anna Ekelund. He was commissioned as an officer in Svea Artillery Regiment in 1906 with the rank of ''underlöjtnant''. Lilliehöök was promoted to lieutenant in 1910 and to captain in 1918 after which he was placed in the reserve. He won a gold medal in the first contested modern pentathlon at the Olympic Games in 1912.
