The 1875–76 Harvard Crimson football team represented Harvard University in the 1875 college football season. The team finished with a 4–0 record and was retroactively named as the College football national championships in NCAA Division I FBS, national champion by the National Championship Foundation and as a co-national champion by Parke H. Davis. The team captain was William A. Whiting. A national championship in the highest level of college football in the United States, currently the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), is a designation awarded annually by various organizations to their selection of the best college football team. This is a list of seasons completed by the Harvard Crimson football team of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Since the team's founding, the Crimson have participated in over 1,300 officially sanctioned games, with an all-time record of 879–403–50. Harvard originally competed as a football independent before joining the Ivy League in 1956 as a founding member.
