Robert Mueller Municipal Airport
Robert Mueller Municipal Airport (1930–1999, "Miller") was the first civilian airport built in Austin, Texas, United States. It was replaced as Greater Austin's main airport by the Austin–Bergstrom International Airport, which is located on the site of the former Bergstrom Air Force Base. A few miles northeast of downtown Austin, the airport was named after Robert Mueller, a city commissioner who died in office in January 1927. Robert Mueller Municipal Airport was identified with the airport code AUS, which was reassigned to Austin–Bergstrom International Airport in 1999. History As the need for commercial air service became clear in the 1920s, the 1928 Austin city plan called for the establishment of a municipal airport. Austin voters supported a bond election to fund the airport (among other projects) later in 1928. The airport was constructed a few miles northeast of downtown, on what was then the edge of the city. The airport began operation on 14 October 1930; air ...

Mueller Calculus
Mueller calculus is a matrix method for manipulating Stokes vectors, which represent the polarization of light. It was developed in 1943 by Hans Mueller. In this technique, the effect of a particular optical element is represented by a Mueller matrix—a 4×4 matrix that is an overlapping generalization of the Jones matrix. Introduction Disregarding coherent wave superposition, any fully polarized, partially polarized, or unpolarized state of light can be represented by a Stokes vector ; and any optical element can be represented by a Mueller matrix (M). If a beam of light is initially in the state \vec_i and then passes through an optical element M and comes out in a state \vec_o, then it is written : \vec_o = \mathrm \vec_i \ . If a beam of light passes through optical element M1 followed by M2 then M3 it is written : \vec_o = \mathrm_3 \left(\mathrm_2 \left(\mathrm_1 \vec_i\right) \right) given that matrix multiplication is associative it can be written : \vec_o = \ ...

It was discovered on 12 February 1985, by American astronomer Carolyn Shoemaker at Palomar Observatory, California, and named after astronomer Jean Mueller. Orbit and classification ''Mueller'' is a member of the Hungaria family, which form the innermost dense concentration of asteroids in the Solar System. It orbits the Sun in the inner main-belt at a distance of 1.7–2.1  AU once every 2 years and 8 months (983 days). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.10 and an inclination of 19 ° with respect to the ecliptic. The body was first identified as at Crimea–Nauchnij on 13 March 1969, yet the observation remained unused for the asteroid's observation arc. Physical characteristics ''Mueller''s spectral type is that of an E-type asteroid, typical for members of the Hungaria family. It has also been characterized as an ...
