Johan Printzensköld
Johan Printzensköld (circa 1615 – December 8, 1658) was a Swedish army officer. As lieutenant colonel he was the commandant of Bornholm between March and December 1658. A revolt broke out on the island against the Swedish occupation, and Printzensköld was killed in Rønne, the capital of Bornholm, on December 8, 1658. Career Little is known of Printzensköld's life. He was the son of a priest by the name Jakob Printz. His noble surname hints that he was nobled for his service in the Thirty Years War, in which Sweden participated between 1630 and 1648. Denmark declared war on Sweden in 1657, but was defeated by Charles X of Sweden and his battle-hardened veterans. The harsh terms of the Treaty of Roskilde dictated among other things that Bornholm was to be part of Sweden, starting on March 15, 1658. Hedvig Eleonora Stenbock (1658–1714) was a Swedish noblewoman and lady-in-waiting; daughter of Count Erik Stenbock and related to queen Katarina Stenbock; sister of the political salonist Magdalena Stenbock. Life She was described as beautiful and well educated and could speak French, German and Italian. She was the '' kammarfröken'' of the queen dowager, Hedwig Eleonora of Holstein-Gottorp. Stenbock caused a great conflict of rank at the royal court when she demanded precedence in etiquette before another lady-in-waiting, Johan Göransson Gyllenstierna's sister Ingeborg Gyllenstierna, despite Gyllenstierna being senior as a lady-in-waiting: "on the grounds that she was the daughter of a Count and a lord of the state, while Ingeborg was the mere daughter of a Baron, admiral and governor”. Georg Stiernhielm
Georg Stiernhielm (August 7, 1598 – April 22, 1672) was a Swedish civil servant, mathematician, linguist and poet. Life Stiernhielm was born on the family estate Gammelgården in the village Svartskär in Vika parish in Dalarna where his father, Olof Markvardsson, of the noble mining family Stierna, was a miner and bailiff. The surname Stiernhielm, literally "Star Helmet", was taken in later life when he was raised into the Swedish nobility. He grew up in the Bergslagen region where his father worked with the mining industry. Stiernhielm received his first schooling at Västerås, but he was also educated in Germany and the Netherlands. In 1636 he obtained the Vasula manor near Tartu, Estonia and lived there until 1656, when he moved due to war with Russia back to Stockholm. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of London in December 1669.
