131st IOC Session
The 131st IOC Session took place between September 13 – September 16, 2017 at the Lima Convention Centre in Lima, Peru. The host cities for the 2024 Summer Olympics and the 2028 Summer Olympics were elected during the 131st IOC Session on September 13, 2017. Bidders At the 127th IOC Session in 2014, Lima, Peru, was selected as session host by the IOC general assembly over Helsinki, Finland, by 54 votes to 30. Host city elections Two Olympic host city elections took place at the 131st IOC Session. The host cities of the 2024 and 2028 Summer Olympics were elected. 2024 Summer Olympics The only candidate city for the 2024 Summer Olympics, Paris, France, was elected during the 131st IOC Session. Denis Oswald (sports Official)
Denis Oswald (born 9 May 1947 in Neuchâtel) is a Swiss rower and sports official. He competed in the 1968, 1972, and 1976 Summer Olympics. He is the immediate past-president of the World Rowing Federation (1989–2014). Career In 1968 Oswald won the bronze medal as crew member of the Swiss boat in the coxed fours event. Four years later he finished eighth with the Swiss boat in the coxed four competition. At the 1976 Games he was part of the Swiss boat which finished eighth in the quadruple sculls event. From 1989 until July 2014 Oswald was president of the International Rowing Federation. In 1991 he was elected to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Ingmar De Vos (born 5 August 1963) is a Belgian professional sports manager serving as the thirteenth and current President of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (''Fédération Equestre Internationale'') (FEI). Educated in sports management, business administration and international law, he began his career in mainstream politics before working for the Belgian Equestrian Federation and supported that nation's equestrian teams at the Olympics and the FEI World Equestrian Games.
