12th National Congress Of The Communist Party Of Vietnam
The 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam ( vi, Đại hội đại biểu toàn quốc lần thứ XII, links=no, 12th National Congress of Delegates) was the twelfth party congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam that was held at the My Dinh National Convention Centre, Hanoi. The party convened on January 18, 2016 and lasted until January 20. The Congress elected the 200-member Party Central Committee, composed of 180 official members and 20 alternate members. Vietnam National Convention Center
The National Convention Center (NCC, ) is a major convention center located on Thăng Long Boulevard in Nam Từ Liêm district of Hanoi, Vietnam. The convention center was designed by Meinhard von Gerkan and Nikolaus Goetze of Gerkan, Marg and Partners. Overview History Meinhard von Gerkan, who previously designed the Vietnamese National Assembly building, was assigned to design the National Convention Center. Four designs were presented for consideration in April 2004. In the end, a design called "Surfing the East Sea" was unanimously chosen as the official design of the project by a panel of 31 Vietnamese architects. The project received government approval on October 25, 2004 and construction started on November 15 the same year. On October 15, 2006, the Vietnam National Convention Center was inaugurated. Trương Tấn Sang
Trương Tấn Sang (born 21 January 1949) is a Vietnamese politician, who served as the seventh President of Vietnam from 2011 to 2016. He was one of Vietnam's top leaders, alongside prime minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and Party general secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng. In July 2011, Trương Tấn Sang was elected state president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam by the National Assembly of Vietnam and nominated by his predecessor Nguyễn Minh Triết who retired from office. Vương Đình Huệ (born 15 March 1957) is a Vietnamese politician and Professor in Economics. He is currently the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee. The Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam ( vi, Ban Bí thư Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam, links=no), replaced by the Politburo Standing Committee of the Central Committee in the period 1996 to 2001, is the highest implementation body of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) between Central Committee meetings. Đinh Thế Huynh (born 15 May 1953 in Nam Định Province) is a Vietnamese politician and journalist who served as Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, one of the country's five key leaders along with the General Secretary, President, Prime Minister, and the Chairman of the National Assembly. Nguyễn Thiện Nhân (born 12 June 1953) is a Vietnamese economist, engineer, professor and politician. He is currently a member of the National Assembly representing Ho Chi Minh City, where he served as its party secretary (''de facto'' mayor) from 2017 until his retirement in 2020.
