103rd US Congress
The 103rd United States Congress was a meeting of the legislative branch of the United States federal government, composed of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. It met in Washington, D.C. from January 3, 1993, to January 3, 1995, during the final weeks of George H. W. Bush's presidency and the first two years of Bill Clinton's presidency. The apportionment of seats in the House of Representatives was based on the Twenty-first Census of the United States in 1990. This is the most recent Congress to have a Democratic senator from Texas, Bob Krueger, who lost election to finish Lloyd Bentsen's term in 1993. Three Democratic senators from the state of Maine, George J. Mitchell, and the state of Tennessee, Jim Sasser and Harlan Mathews, only Sasser lost re-election and the other two retired in 1994, respectively. Dan Quayle
James Danforth Quayle (; born February 4, 1947) is an American politician who served as the 44th vice president of the United States from 1989 to 1993 under President George H. W. Bush. A member of the Republican Party (United States), Republican Party, Quayle served as a United States Senate, U.S. senator from Indiana from 1981 to 1989 and a member of the United States House of Representatives, U.S. House of Representatives for Indiana, Indiana's 4th district from 1977 to 1981. A native of Indianapolis, Quayle spent most of his childhood in Paradise Valley, Arizona, Paradise Valley, a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona. He married Marilyn Quayle, Marilyn Tucker in 1972 and obtained his Juris Doctor, J.D. degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1974.
