The New 1017 Records, also known as 1017 Global Music, LLC and formerly 1017 Brick Squad, So Icey Entertainment, & 1017 Eskimo, is an American record label founded by Gucci Mane after his departure from Mizay Entertainment and the closing of So Icey. The label was home to Ralo, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Waka Flocka Flame, OJ Da Juiceman and others. History 2007–2013 In 2007 Gucci Mane founded his first independent record label, So Icey Entertainment, after signing with Mizay Entertainment. Soon after Gucci released his independent album, ''Trap-A-Thon''. From 2007 - 2009, So Icey Entertainment flooded the streets and online streaming platforms with mixtapes. These early years of internet mixtapes would change independent music forever, paving the way for platforms like Youtube, Soundcloud, and Audiomack. Gucci Mane
Radric Delantic Davis (born February 12, 1980), known professionally as Gucci Mane, is an American rapper and record executive. He helped pioneer the hip hop subgenre of trap music alongside fellow Atlanta-based rappers T.I. and Young Jeezy, particularly in the 2000s and 2010s. In 2005, Gucci Mane debuted with ''Trap House'', followed by his second album, '' Hard to Kill'' in 2006. His third studio album ''Back to the Trap House'' was released in 2007. Following a string of critically and commercially successful mixtape releases in 2009, Gucci Mane released his fourth studio album, ''The State vs. Radric Davis'', his first gold-certified album. Tyree Cinque Simmons (born April 22, 1978), professionally known as DJ Drama, is an American DJ, record executive and music promoter. He is the co-founder (with Don Cannon) of Generation Now, an Atlantic Records imprint with artists including Lil Uzi Vert, Jack Harlow, and Skeme on its roster. He initially gained recognition as the official DJ for Atlanta rapper T.I. and as a prominent mixtape DJ with his series, ''Gangsta Grillz''. Numerous artists have appeared on DJ Drama's ''Gangsta Grillz'' tapes, including Lil Wayne, Fabolous, Ludacris, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, and many others. Frenchie (rapper)
Greg Hogan (born May 15, 1985), better known by his stage name Frenchie, is an American rapper. He was in Gucci Mane's 1017 Brick Squad and Waka Flocka Flame's Brick Squad Monopoly. Frenchie is credited for introducing Nicki Minaj and French Montana to Debra's Mizay Entertainment before their mainstream breakouts. He made French Connection in 2009. Early life Frenchie was born and raised in Queens. He spent much of his life travelling back and forth between Queens and Atlanta. His cousin is Southern rapper Waka Flocka Flame. His childhood friend is East Coast rapper Lloyd Banks, and his neighbors included other members who founded G-Unit namely Tony Yayo and 50 Cent. According to interviews Frenchie's father Big Frenchie was a notable gangster and drug dealer in borough in the early 1990s who 50 Cent referenced and idolized in his earlier work most notably on 50 Bars and Ghetto Quran. The Diplomats
The Diplomats (also known as Dipset) is an American hip hop collective formed in 1997 by childhood friends Cam'ron and Jim Jones in Harlem, New York. The group was originally composed of Cam'ron, Jim Jones and Freekey Zekey, all of whom grew up together in Harlem. In 1999, fellow Harlem-based rapper Juelz Santana joined the group. In 2001, following Cam'ron's signing, the group secured a recording contract with Roc-A-Fella Records. It subsequently began recording its debut album, ''Diplomatic Immunity'', and released it on the aforementioned labels in March 2003.
