1st Bangladesh National Film Awards
The 1st Bangladesh National Film Awards ( bn, জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কার) presented by Ministry of Information to felicitate the best of Bangladeshi Cinema censored in the year 1975. Every year, a national panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry and awards were given by then President of Bangladesh. It was the first ceremony of National Film Awards and presented on 4 April 1976. Director Zahir Raihan was awarded a special awards. Baby Islam
Anwarul Islam (known as Baby Islam; 1931 – 24 May 2010) was a Bangladeshi cinematographer and film director. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Cinematography for the film (1975). Early life and education Islam was born in 1931 in Murshidabad, West Bengal to Abdul Hossain Biswas and Motaharun Nessa. He went to a missionary school in Sealdah and moved to Cathedral Mission High School. He matriculated in 1945 before attending Bangabasi College, under the University of Calcutta. Career Islam started his career as the assistant of Bengali film director Ajoy Kar. In 1956, he joined as a senior photographer at the Information Department in Dhaka. He served as the general manager of Film Development Corporation (FDC). Khan Ataur Rahman (known as Khan Ata; 11 December 1928 – 1 December 1997) was a Bangladeshi film actor, director, producer, screenplay writer, music composer, and singer, best known for his role in the film ''Jibon Theke Neya'' (1970). He received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Screenplay for the films ''Sujon Sokhi'' (1975) and ''Danpite Chhele'' (1980). He was awarded Ekushey Padak posthumously in 2003 by the Government of Bangladesh. Sabina Yasmin
Sabina Yasmin (born 4 September 1953) is a Bangladeshi singer. She is best known as a playback singer in Bengali cinema. She has won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer a record 14 times. She has recorded more than 1,500 songs for films and over 10,000 songs in total. Yasmin was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1984 and Independence Day Award in 1996 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life Yasmin was born on 4 September 1953.
