19th Brigade (Australia)
The 19th Brigade was a formation of the Australian Army that was raised as part of the Second Australian Imperial Force for service during World War II. It was briefly raised in 1912 as a Australian Army Reserve, Militia formation providing training as part of the Conscription in Australia, compulsory training scheme. Later, during World War II, the brigade was established in April 1940 in Palestine (region), Palestine as a triangular formation, the brigade was created by transferring one infantry battalion from three other brigades. It was subsequently assigned to the 6th Division (Australia), 6th Division. Throughout 1941, the brigade fought in North African campaign, North Africa, Battle of Greece, Greece and on Battle of Crete, Crete, before undertaking garrison duties in Syria, remaining there until January 1942. 19th Guards Mechanized Brigade (Belarus)
The 19th Guards Mechanized Brigade is a formation of the Armed Forces of Belarus based in Zaslonovo ( :ru:Заслоново), a few kilometers east of Lepiel. The brigade traces its history back to the 1942 formation of the 2nd Guards Mechanized Corps of the Soviet Army during World War II. Subsequent designations during the Cold War included 2nd Guards Mechanized Division and 19th Guards Tank Division. Following the Cold War, the 19th Guards Tank Division was relocated to Belarus and became part of their armed forces in 1992. Thereafter, the unit was reduced to a personnel and equipment cadre unit and titled the 19th Guards Base for Storage of Weapons and Equipment before being upgraded to a mechanized brigade in 2008. The 19th Brigade is an Army Reserve (United Kingdom), Army Reserve brigade of the British Army. As the 19th Infantry Brigade it fought in the World War I, First and World War II, Second world wars. The 19th Mounted Brigade previously known as the 2/1st Scottish Horse Mounted Brigade was a 2nd Line yeomanry brigade of the British Army during the First World War. In July 1916 it was converted to a cyclist formation as 12th Cyclist Brigade and redesignated as 8th Cyclist Brigade in November 1916. It was still in existence, in Ireland, at the end of the war.
