1999–2000 Wisconsin Badgers Men's Basketball Team
The 1999–2000 Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team represented University of Wisconsin–Madison in the 1999–2000 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The head coach was Dick Bennett, coaching his fifth season with the Badgers. The team played its home games at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin and was a member of the Big Ten Conference. Wisconsin finished the season 22–14, 8–8 in Big Ten play to finish in sixth place. The Badgers received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as a No. 8 seed in the West Region. They defeated Fresno State, Arizona, Louisiana State and Purdue en route to the Final Four before losing to Michigan State, 53–41, in Indianapolis. Dick Bennett
Richard A. Bennett (born April 20, 1943) is an American former college basketball coach who is best known for building the Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball program into a mid-major power and revitalizing the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is the father of current Virginia Cavaliers head coach Tony Bennett and former Northern Illinois women's basketball head coach Kathi Bennett. Early life Bennett was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised in Clintonville, Wisconsin. He graduated from Ripon College in 1965 with a B.A. in education. At Ripon, Bennett played basketball (guard), football (halfback and return specialist), and baseball (third baseman) four years each. The JMA Wireless Dome, originally the Carrier Dome (1980–2022) and colloquially called "The Dome," or more recently "The JMA Dome," is a domed sports stadium in Syracuse, New York. Ripon College is a private liberal arts college in Ripon, Wisconsin. As of fall 2018, the college enrolled around 800 students, the majority of whom lived on campus. Students came from 14 nations and 33 states, 53% were female, and nearly 70% of students were Wisconsin residents. History Ripon College was founded in 1851, although its first class of students did not enroll until 1853. It was first known as Brockway College, named for William S.
