1999–2000 Golden State Warriors Season
The 1999–2000 NBA season was the Warriors' 54th season in the National Basketball Association, and 38th in the San Francisco Bay Area. The city of Oakland hosted the 2000 NBA All-Star Game. During the off-season, the Warriors acquired Mookie Blaylock from the Atlanta Hawks, and rookie guard Vonteego Cummings from the Indiana Pacers. The Warriors struggled losing 16 of their first 18 games as head coach P. J. Carlesimo was fired after a 6–21 start, and was replaced with General Manager Garry St. Jean, where the team suffered a 12-game losing streak between December and January. Second-year star Antawn Jamison, Chris Mills, Erick Dampier and Terry Cummings all missed large parts of the season due to injuries. 1999–2000 Chicago Bulls Season
The 1999–2000 NBA season was the Bulls' 34th season in the National Basketball Association. The Bulls won the Draft Lottery, and selected Elton Brand out of Duke University with the first overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft, and also drafted Ron Artest out of St. John's University (New York City), St. John's University with the sixteenth overall pick. During the off-season, the team acquired Hersey Hawkins from the 1998–99 Seattle SuperSonics season, Seattle SuperSonics, and signed free agent Fred Hoiberg, and re-signed former Bulls guard B. J. Brian Winters
Brian Joseph Winters (born March 1, 1952) is an American former basketball player and coach. Career Winters attended academic and athletic powerhouse Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, New York, graduating in 1970. He then played collegiately with the University of South Carolina, scoring 1,079 points over his career. While playing for South Carolina, Winters was hampered due to both a severe case of mononucleosis and a series of knee injuries. He was the 12th pick in the 1974 NBA Draft, taken by the Los Angeles Lakers. Winters made the NBA All-Rookie Team with the Lakers before he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of the deal that brought future Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to the West Coast, which Abdul-Jabbar had demanded. Rod Higgins
Roderick Dwayne Higgins (born January 31, 1960) is an American former professional basketball player who formerly served as president of basketball operations for the National Basketball Association's Charlotte Hornets. He is also the father of former Charlotte Bobcats point guard Cory Higgins. Dave Cowens
David William Cowens ( ; born October 25, 1948) is an American former professional basketball player and NBA head coach. At , he played the center position and occasionally played power forward. Cowens spent most of his playing career with the Boston Celtics. He was the 1971 NBA Rookie of the Year and the 1973 NBA Most Valuable Player. Jeff Foster (basketball)
Jeffrey Douglas Foster (born January 16, 1977) is a former American professional basketball player who spent the entirety of his 13-year career with the Indiana Pacers of the NBA. Early life and college Foster was born in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from James Madison High School in San Antonio in 1995. In senior year, he joined the varsity basketball team in high school. He attended Southwest Texas State University and finished college nine credits short of a degree in finance. 2000–01 Milwaukee Bucks Season
The 2000–01 NBA season was the Bucks' 33rd season in the National Basketball Association. During the off-season, the Bucks acquired Lindsey Hunter from the Detroit Pistons, acquired Jason Caffey from the Golden State Warriors, acquired top draft pick Joel Przybilla from the Houston Rockets, and signed free agents Jerome Kersey and Mark Pope. The 2000–01 NBA season was the Jazz's 27th season in the National Basketball Association, and 22nd season in Salt Lake City, Utah. After the retirement of Jeff Hornacek, the Jazz signed free agents Danny Manning, and John Starks, and acquired Donyell Marshall from the Golden State Warriors in an off-season four-team trade. The team also re-signed former Jazz forward David Benoit, and former Jazz guard John Crotty. Jason Andre Caffey (born June 12, 1973) is an American former professional basketball player who won two championship rings with the Chicago Bulls in the late 1990s. He later became the head coach of the American Basketball Association's Mobile Bay Hurricanes.
