1999–2000 Cleveland Cavaliers Season
The 1999–2000 NBA season was the 30th season of the National Basketball Association in Cleveland, Ohio. In the 1999 NBA draft, the Cavaliers selected Andre Miller from the University of Utah with the eighth overall pick, and selected Trajan Langdon out of Duke University with the eleventh overall pick. During the off-season, the team acquired Lamond Murray from the Los Angeles Clippers, and signed free agent Mark Bryant. After playing just five games the previous season, Zydrunas Ilgauskas would miss the entire season due to foot injuries. Under new head coach Randy Wittman, the Cavaliers played around .500 with an 11–9 start in their first 20 games, but then continued to struggle losing ten of their next eleven games. Randy Wittman
Randy Scott Wittman (born October 28, 1959) is an American former basketball player at the guard position and former coach of the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Washington Wizards. Playing career High school Wittman starred for Indianapolis Ben Davis High School from 1975–1978. He averaged more than 23 points a game for Ben Davis, which remains the second-highest average at the school, and became one of the nation's top recruits. AJ Bramlett
Aaron Jordan Bramlett (born January 10, 1977) is an American former professional basketball player. Bramlett was a three-year letterman at La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, leading the Bears to a state championship in 1994. He committed to the University of Arizona in 1995 and played for the Wildcats for four years, rising to sixth on the school's career list for rebounding and 25th in scoring. He helped Arizona win the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship in 1997, as well as reach the Sweet Sixteen in 1996 and the Elite Eight in 1998. The 2000–01 NBA season was the Spurs' 25th season in the National Basketball Association, their 28th season in San Antonio, and their 34th season as a franchise. During the off-season, the Spurs signed free agents Derek Anderson, and Danny Ferry. All-Star forward Tim Duncan had nearly signed a free agent deal with the Orlando Magic, but decided to stay with the Spurs. 2000–01 Orlando Magic Season
The 2000–01 NBA season was the 12th season for the Orlando Magic in the National Basketball Association. In the 2000 NBA draft, the Magic selected Mike Miller from the University of Florida with the fifth overall pick, selected Keyon Dooling from the University of Missouri with the tenth pick, and selected Courtney Alexander out of Fresno State with the thirteenth pick. However, the team traded Dooling to the Los Angeles Clippers, and dealt Alexander to the Dallas Mavericks. 2000–01 Golden State Warriors Season
The 2000–01 NBA season was the Warriors' 55th season in the National Basketball Association, and 39th in the San Francisco Bay Area. During the off-season, the Warriors re-signed free agent and former All-Star forward Chris Mullin, while acquiring Danny Fortson from the Boston Celtics, and Bob Sura from the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, Fortson only played just six games due to a foot injury. Under new head coach Dave Cowens, the Warriors won their season opener defeating the Phoenix Suns 96–94 on October 31, but their struggles continued as they went on a 7-game losing streak afterwards. The 2000–01 NBA season was the 31st season for the Portland Trail Blazers in the National Basketball Association. In the off-season, the Blazers acquired Dale Davis from the Indiana Pacers, and All-Star forward Shawn Kemp from the Cleveland Cavaliers in a three-team trade. The Blazers struggled losing three of their first four games, but soon recovered and later on posted a 10-game winning streak between January and February, and held a 35–15 record at the All-Star break. Andrew Donald DeClercq (born February 1, 1973) is an American retired professional basketball player and current coach. He was a center and power forward in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for ten seasons during the 1990s and 2000s. DeClercq played college basketball for the University of Florida, and thereafter, he played professionally for the Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Orlando Magic of the NBA. Danny Ferry
Daniel John Willard Ferry (born October 17, 1966) is an American former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and an All-American college player at Duke University. He most recently served as interim general manager of the New Orleans Pelicans. Considered one of the most celebrated basketball players in the United States from the high school graduating class of 1985, Ferry chose to attend Duke University. Ferry led the Duke Blue Devils to three Final Four appearances while setting many school records and earning several national player of the year awards. Wesley Lavon Person (born March 28, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). After his playing career, Person became a women's basketball assistant coach and then the head men's basketball coach at Enterprise-Ozark Community College. He was fired from the latter position in 2010. Selected by the Phoenix Suns 23rd overall in the 1994 NBA draft out of Auburn University, Person played for seven teams throughout his career.
