Anastasija Reiberger
Anastasija Reiberger, née Ryzhikh (born 19 September 1977 in Omsk) is a Russian-born German pole vaulter. She is the older sister of fellow pole vaulter Lisa Ryzih. Her greatest success was the gold medal in the 1999 World Indoor Championships. Reiberger's personal best is , achieved in July 2006 in Nürnberg. As of 2016, this ranks her tenth among German pole vaulters. Biography After living in Russia as a child, father Vladimir Ryzhikh moved his family to the German city of Ulm in 1992. He was a pioneer of pole vault in Germany and introduced his children to the sport. Soon, his elder daughter "Nastja", as she was then called, flourished in this sport (like her younger sister Lisa Ryzih later), setting several junior records and participating for Germany after obtaining German citizenship when she was 18. Balian Buschbaum
Balian Buschbaum (born 14 July 1980 in Ulm) is a former German pole vaulter. Life and career Buschbaum competed in women's pole vaulting before his gender transition, winning the title of German Youth Champion multiple times. In 1999 Buschbaum became the German pole vault champion, later that year setting the German record for pole vault with a height of 4.42 m, beating his previous junior world record of 4.37 m. His personal best is 4.70 metres, achieved in June 2003 in Ulm. On 21 November 2007 Buschbaum announced his retirement from the sport due to a persistent injury and the desire to begin gender reassignment. Þórey Edda Elísdóttir
Þórey Edda Elísdóttir (born 30 June 1977 in Reykjavík) is an Icelandic former pole vaulter. Her personal best is 4.60 metres, achieved in July 2004 in Madrid. This is also the current national Icelandic record. At the 2008 Summer Olympics she did not qualify for final with the result 4.15 metres. Þórey Edda got her university degree in engineering at the University of Iceland. Kellie Suttle (born May 9, 1973, in Saint Peters, Missouri) is a retired female track and field athlete from the United States, who competed in the pole vault event. A two-time Olympian (2000 and 2004), she won the silver medal at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and the silver at the 2001 World Indoor Championships. Won 1998 outdoor US championships and 2006 indoor US championships. Daniela Bártová-Břečková () (born 6 May 1974) is a retired Czech athlete. She was born in Ostrava. Originally a gymnast, her coach persuaded her to be a pole vaulter. She set nine world records in the mid-1990s, but she lost it on 4 November 1995 to Sun Caiyun and was unable to recapture it. Her personal best is 4.51 m ( Bratislava, Slovakia, 9 June 1998).
