Sydney International Aquatic Centre
The Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (SOPAC) , formerly Sydney International Aquatic Centre (SIAC), is a swimming pool, swimming venue located in the Sydney Olympic Park in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Scott Miller (swimmer)
Scott Andrew Miller (born 21 February 1975) is an Australian convicted drug dealer and former butterfly swimmer who competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics, winning a silver and bronze medal. Career Early years Coached by Barry Prime, the Manly-born swimmer emerged onto the international scene as a 19-year-old at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia, where he won the 100 m butterfly and the 4×100 m medley relay. In 1995, he became the World Short Course champion in the 200 m butterfly, and established himself as a contender for the 1996 Olympics. While competing at the Pan Pacific Championships in Atlanta that year, he was jailed for a night after intervening in a fight outside a nightclub. Cameron Delaney (swimmer)
Cameron Delaney (born 25 November 1980) is an Australian former swimmer who competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. There he finished in eleventh position in the 200m backstroke, clocking 2:00.39 in the semifinal. Delaney, who started swimming as a child on the advice of his doctor due to a weak chest, was a member of the Galston Swimming Club in Sydney and trained under former Olympian Gary Winram. He also worked as a lifeguard whilst training. In 1999, Delaney made himself noticed as a backstroke contender by finishing third in the 200m backstroke in the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships. In this race, he finished third behind American Lenny Krayzelburg, who beat the world record. Lim Keng Liat (born 29 August 1980) is a retired Malaysian swimmer. He was born in Sandakan, Sabah. He was awarded the National Sportsman of the Year and Olympian of the Year in 1998. In 2009, he was inducted into the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) Hall of Fame. Career Lim attended The Bolles School in Jacksonville for his prep tenure and had unparalleled success. In 1998, 1999, and 2000, Lim was the national high school champion in both the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, and he twice set the 100 backstroke national record during his time with the Bulldogs. Simon Thirsk (born 15 May 1977 in Cape Town) is a retired South African swimmer, who specialised in backstroke events. Career and awards Thirsk won a gold medal in the 100 m backstroke at the 1999 Summer Universiade, and later represented South Africa at the 2000 Summer Olympics. While residing in the United States, Thirsk played for the University of Hawaii's swimming and diving team, also known as the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, under head coach Sam Freas. Thirsk burst onto the global scene at the 1999 Summer Universiade in Palma de Mallorca. Christopher Renaud (born 29 August 1976) is a former backstroke swimmer from Canada, who competed in two consecutive Summer Olympics for his native country, starting in 1996. His highlights include setting a world record in the short course 50-metre backstroke in 1997, and won several Canadian titles. He is an alumnus of Bishop Carroll High School. Neil Scott Walker (born June 25, 1976) is an American former competition swimmer, four-time Olympic medalist, and former world record-holder in multiple events. Walker represented the United States at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where he won a silver medal in the men's 4×100-meter freestyle relay, and at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where he also won a bronze in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay.
