1999 FIVB Women's World Cup
The 1999 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup, FIVB Women's World Cup was held from 2 to 16 November 1999 in Japan. The winner received a fast lane ticket into the Volleyball at the 2000 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament, 2000 Summer Olympics. Twelve women's national teams played at several venues across Japan. the teams were the hosts Japan, continental and vice-champions from Asia, Europe, NORCECA and South America, the African continental champion, and two wild-card teams created by the FIVB and the Japan Volleyball Association. Taismary Agüero
Taismary Agüero Leiva (born March 5, 1977) is a Cuban-born Italian volleyball player. She is the only player to represent two women's volleyball national team to win Major titles (1995 FIVB World Cup, 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, 1998 FIVB World Championship, 1999 FIVB World Cup and 2000 Sydney Olympic Games for Cuba; 2007 FIVB World Cup for Italy). Life Born in Yaguajay in the province of Sancti Spiritus, when she began to play volleyball when she was eight years old. Two years later, she entered in the Cerro Pelado Training Center in Havana. In 1993 she won the junior women's volleyball world championship and then joined the senior national team. She did not participate in the 1994 FIVB Women's World Championship, but she won the gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta two years later. , formerly Nagoya Rainbow Hall, is an indoor sports arena located in Nagoya, Japan. From April 1, 2007, its name was changed to Nippon Gaishi Hall, to reflect the sponsorship of the NGK Insulators. Yumilka Daysi Ruíz Luaces (born 8 May 1978 in Camagüey) is a retired volleyball player from Cuba, who represented her native country in four consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1996. She twice won a gold medal with the national team in 1996 and 2000; she also claimed the bronze at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Career She played the 2004/05 season with the Russian club Uralochka-NTMK, where she set the record of scoring 53 points in a single match. She retired in 2008 aged 30. At 1.79m the outside hitter had a jumping power reaching 3.28m. In August 2008 she was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee by the 120th IOC Session. Mirka Francia Vasconcelos (born 14 February 1975, in Villa Clara) is a Cuban-Italian volleyball player who has won two Olympic gold medals with the Cuba women's national volleyball team. At 1.84 meters (6 ft) tall, she played as a blocker before becoming a hitter in 2004. Life and career Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, Francia first played volleyball at age ten and joined the junior national team in Havana four years later. Regla Maritza Bell MacKenzie (July 6, 1970 in Havana) is a volleyball player from Cuba who won the gold medal three times at the Olympic Games from 1992–2000, and the World Championship in 1998 with the Cuban national team.
