The 1998–99 UCLA Bruins men's basketball team represented the University of California, Los Angeles in the 1998–99 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team finished 3rd in the conference. The Bruins competed in the 1999 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, losing to the Detroit Titans in the round of 64. This was the third season for head coach Steve Lavin. Steve Lavin
Stephen Michael Lavin (born September 4, 1964) is an American men's college basketball coach and broadcaster who is the head coach of the San Diego Toreros men's basketball, San Diego Toreros of the West Coast Conference (WCC). He previously served as head coach of the St. John's Red Storm men's basketball, St. John's Red Storm and UCLA Bruins men's basketball, UCLA Bruins. In eleven full seasons as a head coach, Lavin had led teams to ten postseason appearances, highlighted by eight National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA Tournament berths, an Elite Eight ('97), five NCAA Regional semifinals ('97, '98, '00, '01, '02) and nine campaigns of twenty or more wins. McArthur Court
McArthur Court is a basketball arena located on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene and the former home of the Oregon Ducks men's and women's basketball teams, replaced in 2011 by Matthew Knight Arena. Also known as "The Pit" or "Mac Court," it was known as one of the most hostile arenas in the nation. The arena is named for Clifton N. (Pat) McArthur, U. S. Gill Coliseum
Gill Coliseum is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the northwest United States, located on the campus of Oregon State University in Opened the arena has a seating capacity of 9,604 and is home to the Oregon State Beavers' basketball, wrestling, volleyball, and gymnastics teams. The 1998–99 Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team represented the University of Arizona in the 1998–99 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The head coach was Lute Olson.
